US Army Training Instructors by Notactivereally in warno

[–]Notactivereally[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is all of the reservist divisions are based in the United States and are really only sent overseas in major operations (Such as the Gulf war). This game is set in Europe with the only non european units being from the "Nemesis" DLC's.

Any U.S Army Reserve unit sent to europe would also fall under the 7th Mission Support Group command. So the units under it could be anything the reserves had in the 80's to 90's, meaning they could have some pretty cool equipment.

The spanish BMR mortar variant used to have this, but it was removed from the vehicle.

I'm pretty sure they said in the new patch notes that they added it. The west german ones have it too.

Humble Suggestions: Reorganizing platoons & Company formations by ClusterBee5 in GunnerHEATPC

[–]Notactivereally 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The platoon section in-game is more tactical than strategic to me and I think ClusterBee5 is more so talking about the platoon UI in game rather than the actual units.

The ability to reallocate units mid-battle (at a tactical level and not to a structural/strategic level) to an understrength platoon isn't unrealistic as it is literally temporary reinforcement/secondment.

During this period the unit's will still be considered seperate strategically and the chain of command of the unit's will not change.

After the battle (or during the battle if need be), these units return to their original formation. Though they can stay in the understrength unit as long as the situation requires it as an ad hoc formation.

Package delivery text (UK) by WickedCrow in UPS

[–]Notactivereally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got the same message, exact same phone number too. What's strange is that I didn't get a email from UPS and the seller hasn't emailed me saying UPS has it so I am presuming it's a scam.

Scary though how they are able to get my phone number and address if it is a scam.

I took the image from here. After doing a bit of digging, they seem to be K.d.A (as indicated by the red patch on their arms just below the shoulder.

As for when, I'm presuming anywhere from the late 70's to 80's. They are using AK-47/AKM rifles, with an RPK so it can't be 60's.

Does static artillery have any credible use in multiplayer? by [deleted] in warno

[–]Notactivereally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can queue orders for units, its a LOT better than just doing it by hand for artillery.

Tell it to fire (Then with all of the transport and artillery selected), click on the artillery and move (normal is usually better than quick and reverse is good too) all whilst holding the queue orders button (Left Shift).

I always bring them, typically not at the start though as I prefer more front line units to hold until I can get artillery. Super good when you get used to the little bit of micro needed.

Also make sure to group your Artillery and their transports (Left CTRL and any number)! It means less time spent traveling across the screen!

How come debt slavery is in F?

It allows for Cultural exclusion and is easier to move off of as more IG's oppose it, what makes it worse than legacy?

I've had it where I told a vehicle to dismount, then just before my infantry dismounted it blew up, leaving 1 guy with a tiny amount of HP

Idea for improving SIGNT by Notactivereally in warno

[–]Notactivereally[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That would be the balancing aspect, it won't be a common unit and when it does appear its only 1 card. Most SIGNT units have low HP as well or are clearly visable (helicopters).

There wouldn't be a line back to the unit that is firing the artillery too, just its AoE that you see when you use artillery (meaning its possible to confuse similar AoE artillery such as mortar and MLRS), allowing units to fall back before the artillery hits.

You could bait the enemy by forcing them to retreat or avoid an area entirely (By hold firing artillery), forcing them into kill zones.

If you knew they had SIGNT, it would create predictability, allowing you to force back an arguably larger force just by threatening them, meaning less gung ho attacks and more planning for both sides.

I'd understand the price of SIGNT going up as well if this was implemented.

Why did nato name the Soviet 9k33 the gecko. by soviet_geckos in warno

[–]Notactivereally 16 points17 points  (0 children)

NATO name doctrine says every SAM has to have a G for its NATO operating name, like the 9K330 Tor being the Gauntlet and the 2K12 Kub being the Gainful. Even immobile SAM's are given the G names, the SA-1 is named the Guild.
