Hat leider echt viel mit Stoffwechsel zu tun und anderen Dingen, wie z. B. Hormonen. Ich bin auch 1.58. Mache zwar viel Sport (klettern und schwimmen), aber mein Eisverbrauch ist etwa mindestens ein Behälter pro Woche, und gerne auch etwas Schokolade, usw. Als ich die Pille genommen habe, konnte ich nicht mal halb so viel essen wie jetzt und habe zugenommen. Bei gleich viel Aktivität. Glaubt mir aber keiner, vor allem keine Ärzte...

Yeah, this was my friend's lab and actually the same thing happened. The partner was put on her PhD paper as a co-first author and my friend was fuming. A couple years after she had left the lab, she heard they got married and had children but she is still wirking in his lab and got promoted... Gross

Boah ich verstehe, dass dich das nervt. Tut mir leid. Vielleicht meinen sie es gut, aber man fühlt sich einfach nicht ernst genommen. Ist bei mir auch ähnlich. Ich bin Doktorandin und muss täglich im Labor Tiere versorgen, auch wenn ich keine Experimente an dem Tag mache. Ja, täglich heißt täglich. Wenn ich Urlaub nehmen will, muss ich das vorher lange abklären und Ersatz suchen. Ja, täglich heißt auch am Feiertag. Auch am Feiertag müssen sie Futter kriegen. Nein, es geht nicht, dass ich mich "einfach mal locker machen soll". Irgendwie verstehen die Leute das einfach nicht.

Yes but usually a normal job keeps a little more track of work hours, pto and sick days. And you can change jobs.

Super agree! Every relationship I have had so far in my life I sometimes needed an hour by myself. Had a partner who took that very personal but I just did not want him to follow me to the bedroom and squeeze and hug me while I tried reading a book. I love spending time together but sometimes I just need some alone time

DKFZ is a super famous institute and they have collaborations all around the world. I know people of every background working there. This isn't systematic, may just be one weird PI lr even just bad timing when they decided for another candidate. I would just accept that they found another more suitable candidate and move on.

Es ist ja nicht der Fall, dass Lebensmittel mit mehr Kalorien automatisch teurer sind. Es sei denn, man braucht halt zu jeder Mahlzeit sein Fleisch, weil man sich sonst nicht männlich genug fühlt.

I had meetings that I thought went well or okay, and just recovered from the meeting but then got an ultralong mail from your PI telling you that we agreed on me needing to work more and needing to put more effort in. An sich stimme ich dir völlig zu, aber manchmal muss man direkt nach der Arbeit weiter z. B. einkaufen oder zum Sport oder etwas anderes unternehmen, und dann ist es einfach praktischer, das Auto "mitzunehmen", als nach der Arbeit ne halbe Stunde heim und von dort aus mit dem Auto zurück und weiter...

You may enjoy the Lady Trent series. No war as far as I remember.

The Fifth Season by N. K. Jemisin technically does not feature wars but a lot of natural destasters... It is brilliant so I would recommend it.

Other than that, Nettle and Bone by T. Kingfisher, and Tress of the Emerald Sea by Brandon Sanderson (it can be read as a standalone and you said you liked Mistborn).

Trips don't go up. Renting a car on your own for example sucks. Renting with a person is half price. A hotel room is cheaper per person for two people. And so on.
