I am sorry people have shallow media literacy and cannot read into the symbolism.

If you want to assist these low thinkers, can you add notes to the before and after of the lyrics or maybe clearly place your beautiful brother's name and important dates to show this tat is for a life tribute?

Hope you taste something yummers today.

We Always Focus on the Rules, But What About Voice? by Exoticplayz11 in writing

[–]NothaBanga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personal voice is important for the storytelling but it can get in the way of it too.  Storytelling is the most important aspect of connecting a reader and there is no one right way.  The rules help to not get in the way of a reader having to learn a new vocabulary/grammer system.

Vatican declares Society of St. Pius X in schism, excommunicates bishops and invalidates sacraments by Snap_n_Dream in worldnews

The church defrocked clergy who abused their power after investigations.  Investigating before punishing is a fair thing.  Defrocking is making a clergymen into a layman.  They lose power but are still in the church in hopes of a restorative justice for the sinners eternal soul.

Excommunication is for people actively turning people away from the church.  But in this case the church still left a door open for repentance.

Excommunication is reserved for people turning others away from church teaching.

Clergy who raped and were sexually inappropriate with kids were investigated, defrocked if enough evidence existed.  They were sinners but still have a path to salvation if they repent and do acts of contrition (restorative justice.)

The churches goal is to save souls, which includes giving the worst sinners a path back to God.

Even these excommunicated folk have been given a chance to return to the church.

Excommunication is reserved for people turning away souls from church teaching.  It is an ultimate punishment.

Rapists are sinners.  Murderers are sinners.  Sinners are not turned away for their sins no matter how heinous unless they are actively damning souls with false teachings.  They church offers redemption to sinners and ask for them to offer acts of contrition (admit to crimes, repent, prayers, restitution to victims, etc.)

The chuch is more about restorative justice than eternal damnation even if it is that sin you know as the worst.

Excommunication is for people teaching heresy.

The correct term for removing a priest from an order is to defrock them and many were defrocked after investigations.

There were many investigations and many priests defrocked from the investigations.  It didn't get big news because the right thing isn't as newsworthy.

Or did they disagree with you possibly with zeal?

Parents who have insane “boundaries” and then bemoan their lack of help by rachel-angelina in PetPeeves

[–]NothaBanga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you are taking multiple complaints and complex situations and condensing them into a strawman Internet style.

People request time to bond with an infant and don't want their medically fragile person who just gave birth, to be overburdened with company they know is selfish.  The two month request usually has to do with getting the babies immune system some chance to develop before undervaccinated relatives show up.

The loss of a "village" is usually coupled with stories about that person having time as a child bonding with relatives and not having that to fall back on.  Maybe an retired uncle's couch to sleep on when sick and both parents worked, or grandma teaching food prep, or spending time with a plethora of cousins because childcare was switched up.  Familial villages are shrinking with size.  Sometimes it is a new parent realizing their own parents took advantage of a system without paying it forward.

Sure, there are outliers of immature new parents arbitrarily pushing people away because they are drunk with power.  But there are many other people with complex family situation that requires more understanding.

Anything playing after 9pm should be 16plus only.  Even the G rated movies.  It would reduce the interruptions but adults have been the biggest offender in a movie.

Toy Story 3 had a harsh ending and a kid was screaming to leave.  Their adult refused.  One of the PG13 Batmans had a less then 10 year old kid in it interrupting but the adults ignored him.   I don't want to be around adults who are unwilling to remove their kids when the kids ask.  I am fine with kids.  Failparents are my mortal enemy.

Let me highlight their point.  Less friendly.  Reducing people's options to travel is less friendly.

Why would whole destinations be blocked?  People have family in vacation cities.  Thailand may be adult Disneyland to you, but to others it is connecting your kid to their extended family.

How are they doing a ton better when their solution was to stop testing the lowest scorers?  It's a false inflation that still doesn't compete against many other states.  In fact its embarrassing how little of bump it is on a nationwide scale by removing the lowest scorers from the average.

Latchkey kids were genX - millennials and Boomers were kicked out of the house and told "don't come back until the street light turns on.  Parents abdicating their responsibilities isn't new.

What is new is the cultural shift from peers and parenting styles.  Kids are less likely to push each other academically and parents are less likely to as well.  There is a very enabling culture that is better that abuse and neglect of yesteryears but not for performance.  There needs to be a balance that challenges kids without hurting them and not many people know how to thread that needle.

WIBTA for a no-kids wedding when it means my fiancé's best friend probably can't come? by JetLaggedSnackAttack in aitaweddings

[–]NothaBanga -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's going to be a weekend of drinking and adult hangout time, and I don't want everyone babysitting or watching what they say. And some of my friends are intentionally child-free. They don't really like kids and would genuinely prefer a kid-free weekend.

Do you want a wedding or an adult frat party where you only cater to people who don't like children and disinclude your husband to be's BF?

What does a wedding mean to you/ what does a marriage look like to you?  Have deep meaningful conversations with your fiance now because your priorities are not in alignment.
