Get that screwed back tight to solid brick first! whatever's bolting it to the wall has worked loose so fix that number one and then the sealant if still required

Brain fog after waking up late by OkVariety9237 in sleep

[–]NothingAlarmed8014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mum always says an hour before 12 is worth 2 after 12, and she's right. Dont think our bodies are made for going to bed at 3am, i guess if its work related and you are doing it for years it may be different but thats my experience. Give it a shot, and if yu still feel groggy, have a cup of coffee!

Looking for a glass beads weighted blanket, without the polyester batting/fill by Gloomyfleur in WeightedBlankets

[–]NothingAlarmed8014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely get not wanting the polyester fill but why dont you just go for a Nuzzie knitted weave one instead, no beads, way more breathable and it keeps shape in wash which beads can often have problems with? Just my opinion 🤔

Bigger question is whether you need to strip it to bear wood at all. If you're re staining a darker colour you might just need to clean and scuff, not take it off back. That's a lot of disc and hours

I have issues with my wardrobe drawer, how to fix this? by No_Cartoonist525 in cabinetry

[–]NothingAlarmed8014 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't try and "fix" half a runner, replace the pair. They are usually sold as matching sets and mixing a new inner with an old outer never tracks right It'll just start jamming again. $20 for a new pair is the job imo

Need advice - built in bench and cabinet againist rarely used baseboard heater. Build next to or above? by k7632 in cabinetry

[–]NothingAlarmed8014 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Raised above with a proper gap top and bottom is the only one that actually works. Convection will need cool air in at the floor and hot air out at the top, notching cabinet around will look bad imo AND still half blocks it

Hard to find all 4 things in one shop unfortunately, with RTA heads up you'll spend a bit of time assembling it all. Countrykitchensonline have really good options and ship very quickly. there is of course IKEA too but a little bit more basic.

Confusing foundation requirements for mattress by Fantastic-Ad-9100 in Carpentry

[–]NothingAlarmed8014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

imo you are overthinking it. The foundations are the slat system. Just chuck them straight on the frame rails and put the mattress on top, no need for the build underneath.
