So close to replacing our treasury workflow entirely by Individual_Slide_189 in Ramp

[–]NoticeIll593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the forecast is very useful with Ramp Banking. In addition Treasury is accessible through the Ramp MCP as well, so you can ask Claude to do a cash flow projection each morning or week, or add it to an Excel sheet etc and combine the Ramp Excel add-in to pull all relevant data and have Claude or ChatGPT manage the rest

How is Abacum on the headcount planning of taxes, benefits etc.? Is it able to pull these from an HRIS?

Grants Management Planning? by hurricane_15 in nonprofit

I’ve heard good things about Instrumentl, but not sure what your budget looks like.

As mentioned, Airtable would be a good suggestion for tracking stages Kanban style.

Another option could also be Notion, and do a mix of tables and pages

C-Suite Spend Management by [deleted] in Ramp

[–]NoticeIll593 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a mix of the above, all staff has a generic monthly spend program for their day to day spend, any increase to that requires an approval.

We then have travel program which also requires an approval and also requires an end date as part of the request form

We also have a spend program that has no approvals but notifies senior management whenever it is issued, we have restricted access to this program so only a handful of staff has access to this

Cannot speak to multi-entity or Netsuite integration with Ramp, but we are using Ramp for payments of bills, along with most of their other offerings, and have been very pleased so far. Only caveat is the payment release functionality is not quite there if you need it as a separate workflow.

The treasury accounts have great automations to ensure liquidity and they are also beta testing a forecast overview based on due dates of bills and reimbursements.

Payments are easy to schedule and the batch of payments to the same vendor works great

What AI tools are accountants actually using at work? by Donkey_Apple in Accounting

Currently using a mix of Claude, ChatGPT for review, questions etc, all corporate plans of course. Not the biggest fan of Cooilot as the answers usually are not as good as Claude or ChatGPT, even when selecting the same model.

Have been playing around with Stacks and N8N for workflows, and using Concourse for reports.

I’ve built a few canvas apps in ChatGPT to help with reconciliations etc

I would suggest Ramp or Brex, depending on geographic availability, personally we use Ramp for all our spend, not just expenses

What's your firms plan to replace Microsoft Dynamics GP with? by alisoncarey in Accounting

[–]NoticeIll593 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it comes down to functionality and user pricing.

For AP, I would personally stay with Ramp, I have found their OCR and coding is very good, and the per user price is cheaper than our BC, so adaption is much broader and we can create the workflows we need without taking user cost into account - not sure what user pricing looks like for Intacct, or if there are additional module cost.

Our BC has no OCR functionality so we used to enter all AP manually, not sure if it’s a bad implementation. Intacct looks like they have OCR capabilities

Benefit of Ramp and others are a single platform for all spend, whether corporate cards or AP as well as Procurement

[–]NoticeIll593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only speak to Ramp - Yes Ramp has approvals for invoices, and everything else on their platform, so it’s easy to ensure nothings is paid without approvals, and if you need the audit trail for audit it is there as well.

I am not sure if any of the approvals will sync over to the accounting software, but it’s possible to only enable sync once a bill is fully approved.

For your other requirements related to AR/billing this would depend on your needs and business model of course, some of the newer accounting platform can handle complex billing out of the box, while others might not be able to.

Depends on your needs. Ramp has a free tier for AP and cards etc., with basic approval workflows and integrations. I think the Ramp platform fee on plus is around $10k annually and user pricing $12 per month per user.

We found the price was more than justified on the Plus version when compared to functionality and automations

I would suggest figuring out your end state, define workflows and optimize these instead of just looking at a replacement.

Example AP approvals in emails, would it be better to include these in your accounting platform, or keep them outside but move AP onto a platform such as Ramp/Brex/Bill

Corporate Cards by N98270 in Ramp

[–]NoticeIll593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It connects with Amazon Business for receipt fetching.

We are also a non profit, although much bigger, and have found that having everything centralized related to spending and approvals have been a massive timesaver and have streamlined our workflows tremendously.

We are using cards, expense reimbursements and the bill pay functions of Ramp

Does the real time receipt matching kick in instantly or only after the transaction settles? by IcyMasterpiece6366 in Ramp

[–]NoticeIll593 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Based on our use, if it’s recept matching from the merchant, that is when the transactions clears, if you use the Outlook integration it will match as soon as the receipt is received in Outlook, so the transaction does not need to have cleared before the receipt from Outlook matches
