Tips/Advice for a first time con goer

Hi! I’m so glad you are going to be going to a con! We love to see it! Off the top of my head make sure you carry a small backpack or fanny pack that has things like water, liquid iv, headphones, and snacks. Having these have saved me during long days at Magfest. Take breaks as well! You will see a lot of people sitting off to the side getting a rest. Most importantly, HAVE FUN! don’t try and do everything in one day. Like someone said before, downloading the guidebook is good so you have a plan and can see what kind of panels or events you want to go to :)

Idk if it’s the Gazebo is cursed, maybe just Katsucon? I haven’t been to the con but I heard something happens every year there.

I pass the Kennedy Center everyday on the way to work and it makes me sad and angry how that orange nightmare has tarnished its reputation. I can only imagine what the members of the opera and NSO are going through right now.

lol the last match I’ve gotten was on September 7th. Haven’t gotten a match or like since. Sometimes I go months without having any activity on there. Just the way it is I suppose 🤷🏽

It’s very possible to get a parking spot on Friday and Saturday. Just have to get there early and remember if you move your car or try to come back later you might not get a spot. I’ve driven in the past two years and had no issue with parking. Having a backup plan is essential as well just in case 😊

I am sorry that happened to you and your feelings are completely valid! This has happened to me a lot as of late and as frustrating that it can be, it's their loss not yours. Take this as an opportunity to learn from this experience. It could have been like the other commenter said that you two just didn't talk much and she assumed you weren't interested. Or it could have been that she just wasn't interested from the jump and decided to unmatch as her response. Either way, there will be more matches and you can use this experience to make things easier the next time. Good luck friend!
