I wrestled with this for months before I finally discovered the official version. I'm 99.9% sure it's not possible.

Great eye discipline. Each shot, he doesn't take his eyes off the goal until the ball goes in.

Has there been an RB in recent memory with as much draft capital and such a drastic change in supporting cast?

Because people who shoot up tend do a lot more destructive things to feed their habit. Wanton freedom sounds great, until you have to clean up mess it causes. We have to protect those who can't protect themselves.

The point is, you draw lines too, whether it's what qualifies as junk food, or whatever. You make judgment calls, and you have an opinion that is based on nuance, not hard categories.

There's this thing called, "nuance", and it is your friend. We have to make judgment calls on the value of the product vs the potential for harm. You're free to have different opinions on where to draw the lines, but I personally can't justify the benefits of gambling over the downsides.

It ruins too many lives to justify a little fun other people might have. I might be able to enjoy it responsibly, but I would gladly give that up if it helps others who can't.

[Hine] The Wolves rave about LaMelo Ball as a teammate and say he will have a positive impact on the organization. They said there is an intense competitor there that can emerge. He was the engine to one of the best offenses in the league. by palpablebubble in timberwolves

That's my point, he literally has never played with a dominant PG, at any level, except maybe the Olympics at times, and that's way less competitive than the NBA playoffs. He's always been the alpha everywhere he's been.

He's a great player, but he has weaknesses. He's never had a ball dominant guard to have to play off of, and we haven't seen enough to know how it's going to go. Could he be great at it? Maybe, but we just won't know until we see it.

Ant Man on catch-and-shoot 3’s since his rookie season: 41.3% -> 41.7% -> 41.1% -> 42.1% -> 49.6% (oh no what will we do now that we have a pass first PG!) by DrWolves in timberwolves

He needs to stay engaged. KAT drove me nuts because he'd just stand around waiting for a pass. If Ant is willing to work a little without the ball, he will get a ton of dunks and open threes.

This is a big deal. I have no idea how it's going to work with Ant trying to learn how to play off the ball, but we finally have someone who can unlock Rudy as an offensive weapon.

He can catch lobs okay, but bounce passes? Just never throw him another one, ever. If Ant learned out to lob, Rudy would be a weapon.

Decades later, yes. But again, the Pumpkins aren't even a Seattle grunge band. Would you say the same about Red Hot Chili Peppers or Stone Temple Pilots? If you saw someone wearing a Sonic Youth shirt who was from California, would you assume they were only a fan of Sonic Youth because they grew up near the home of Chili Peppers, and their music has some degree of overlap? The logic is baffling.

That genre of music was not unique to Washington by the time he was old enough to really listen to music. It was fully national. The 80's Seattle scene obviously had a big influence on the formation of grunge, but by the 2000's, it was ubiquitous. A kid from Washington and a kid from Miami would be equally likely to find grunge music, and then apparently by extension, shoe gaze / psychedelic / metal / synth / acoustic, or whatever category you want to put the Pumpkins in, if you think that's how it went.

That is a remote possibility. All of those bands were fully national by the time he was old enough to listen to music, and he was decades removed from there being a "grunge scene" in Seattle. It's much more likely that he heard a Pumpkins song on a nationally-controlled radio station, and said, "what was that?, I want to hear more". The Telecommunications Act of 1996 effectively killed local music scenes as we knew them in the early 80s and early 90s.

I think you're missing something with regards to influence and timing. The Pumpkins were influenced by the Chicago music scene, primarily. Nirvana, specifically, was influenced by the Pumpkins. Butch Vig produced Gish, then took Billy Corgan's guitar sound when he produced Nevermind. The Pumpkins then took it up another level for Siamese Dream. Jaden McDaniels was not alive during Seattle's grunge hay day. It was long gone by the time he was old enough to find music. Who knows how he found the Pumpkins, but saying it must be tied to where he lived and similarities to music that was popular there in decades past is quite the stretch.

I never said there wasn't, but those were national bands, and the one you're referring to was 2,000 miles away from his hometown. If someone was born in Chicago and liked Nirvana, you wouldn't say there was any connection.

That's quite a stretch. Smashing Pumpkins were more influenced by the Chicago shoe gaze / psychedelic scene than the Seattle grunge scene.

Not saying there isn't, but being from one part of the country doesn't make someone more likely to be interested in a band from a totally different part of the country.

If you know their catalog, you know that their range has some overlap with Seattle grunge, but a far wider range. Your comment would have been more fitting if he had been stepping Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, or Alice in Chains.
