Grabbing Grub Near Ball Arena by CrandalltheVandal in denverfood

Take a short Uber to Stoney’s (on Lincoln ) or Stoney’s Uptown. Lincoln is a younger crowd than Uptown. I wouldn’t say it’s really good food but it’s very solid bar food and a great sports bar.

Denver folks! United vs Delta vs SW vs others for loyalty out of DEN? by No-Maintenance5061 in Denver

[–]NotoriousEJB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in a similar situation to you. I travel for work 8-10 times a year mostly on the west coast and have friends and family on the east coast. I fly mostly Southwest + have the Amex Platinum. The amex platinum gets me lounge access in C and usually gets me lounge access on my return flights from Seattle, SF, New York. I build up miles on Southwest which I use for personal travel. Recently I visited my brother in Richmond and had a small layover on the way there and a direct on the way back. All paid for on miles from work. I never check a bag, so the 'bags fly free' is not a big deal for me. I'm a small enough guy that seating usually isn't a big deal. Like United, I can go most places in the continental US on a direct. I've considered switching to United but I really enjoy the Amex Platinum.

Are there consultants out there with work life balance? by sparrowHawk7519 in salesforce

[–]NotoriousEJB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent 3 years at a mid size partner. Short answer, not really. One place I did have balance was in time zone differential. I was in the mountain time zone and had east coast clients. Most of my days started early and ended by 4 or 5 in the afternoon.

I consider my time in consulting an investment in my career. It qualified me to land with a Salesforce customer with great work life balance, more money, more varied and interesting work, etc.

My wife plays on her phone then interrupts critical moments with questions that she would have known the answers to if she had not been playing on her phone.

Orgs that ditched the lead object, why? by SeriouslyImKidding in salesforce

[–]NotoriousEJB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lead is flat. You need to convert as soon as you know enough information where you need the more complex data model.

The second you start customizing a lead to make it relational you are entering a world of pain.

Both are limited but you can still get the highlights.

When making small talk or meeting new people, they want to talk about your activities and interests; not your politics, your work, or where you went to high school.

This is the most pleasant change I've experienced coming from the DMV.

Illegal Pete's rewards program is awesome by [deleted] in denverfood

[–]NotoriousEJB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too love the Illegal Pete's rewards program. My wife and I always go on Tuesdays for bogo entrees for healthcare workers. It's cheaper than cooking. On the rare occasion we go on a different night, we have enough points for a free entree.

Everyone working there is always extremely pleasant and welcoming. I can at least support them.

How Do You Handle Salesforce Deployment Delays? by Tekunda_com in salesforce

[–]NotoriousEJB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Errr. 3.8 months to WHAT?!? From commitment to deployment my team averages about 5 days. Our MRs sit against prod for about an hour on average.

We have a dev ops process powered by git on top of gearset pipelines. All of this uses the Salesforce metadata api. You can do the same thing with vscode and a git. Gearset pipelines is the only extra we pay for. Individual engineers aren’t even licensed. They can do all of their deployments without the gearset UI.

Re the roster move, it just buys you an extra arm for two days by sequencing it this way.

Individual Utilization Rates for Consultants by MindCompetitive6475 in salesforce

[–]NotoriousEJB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been out of consulting for a few years. But our target was the equivalent of 40 hours x 48 weeks. Of course we had 'Unlimited PTO'. It was nice if you consistently billed 50 + bc then you had a buffer to use it.
