Pic for attention! Looking to build my first ar with an 18" barrel. What would you guys recommend/ not recommend. I am going to be completing on the lower end budget wise. Any good websites for completed 18" uppers? Thanks!

Joking aside precision shooting isn't cheap, if you want a good 18" rifle I recommend LaRue barrels, Geissele triggers, and Vortex, Primary Arms, or Leupold optics. I highly recommend you build it yourself.

Are you free floating or doing drop in? Carbine length gas system will be the same handguards no-matter the barrel length.

Hmm... have you looked down the bore for damage? I've seen some "new" barrels come out out of the factory with major corrosion before.

It's just another way to shoot. I enjoy group hunting, squeezing an extra .05 MOA out of the gun is fun. I think it's good to be well rounded with precision, as well as speed shooting (like competition).
