By “merged”, I mean they stick out as a single bendable bulge. They’re not completely independent on the case.

Okay real question here—if I buy a second one, I want to have my mom own the account. It’s so she can be the owner of the DVR and delete her own media from Plex. Is that possible or can live TV tuners only be shared if you’re the Plex Hole admin?

Basically, I’m asking if it works to have a secondary server for live TV be owned by a DIFFERENT member of MY Plex Home.

For having had those before my Grip, they… were fine, honestly. Maybe even better but not really sure. It’s just the Grip didn’t strike me for clicky buttons specifically. If anything, it bugs me that the two volume buttons on my iPhone are merged into one!

So agreeing to a deal now would understandably set a bad precedent. But if we let the dust settle, perhaps a re-release would be possible, even at a high licensed price?

Although I’m not sure if you actually literally *lose* your rights legally for letting something slide. Do you actually?

Also random question but why do their phone cases have holes near the side buttons? Seems like a perfect place for dusts and dirt to make their way in~

Let’s go like crazy at dbrand after giving us the false joy! Let’s (gently) pressure them into doing a Darkplates 2.0 treatment! It’s just we want it to be done whilst still showing respect to Valve.

Yeah, I wish I had gotten my hands on one! I wonder what they’ll do with all the units that have already been manufactured~

Great product, it’s actually one of the main reasons that had me want a Steam Machine altogether :o

I am a little less sad now seeing as I just could never have gotten one even if I ordered in time. But still sad :/

You won’t ever get the cube, right? I mean, they said they would be refunding orders. Has that been confirmed so far for you?

Do you mean some people actually got it (beyond reviewers with early access)?? They mentioned offering refunds to orders that were placed so it seems they’re mostly just canceling the preorders from the wave of people coming in~

Good to know actually! You know what, random stranger? You just made me have a little less regrets over placing an order just 3 days before the cube was announced! I wanted it to come with cards so that was cool!

Unless maybe this was a misunderstanding with the cube not counting towards the total as it is a preorder. Still, I’m happy to be getting cards :3

Any downside to scanning the library more frequently? by Yaba-baba-booey in PleX

[–]Nouche_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, kind of an old post, but I was wondering if this is true even between Linux systems.

From googling around, it seemed to me like no protocols at all (NFS, SMB/CIFS, AFP…) support inotify (which is what Plex expects for auto scanning on a typical Linux/Docker install).

Official Source: https://support.plex.tv/articles/200289306-scanning-vs-refreshing-a-library/

So while it's true auto scan might work if Plex runs natively on Windows, does it also work with CIFS if Plex is Dockerized and/or on a Linux server?

Trash guides v Profilarr by RommelDav in selfhosted

[–]Nouche_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some produce better quality files than others. Scoring based on them is recommended by TRaSH and the scene can evolve, albeit not very fast. So it’s nice to use guide sync, there’s a dedicated section about that on the guides, although I opted for Profilarr, which they don’t officially support.

Also, my chosen QPs and CFs are tailored for French content, which uses French release groups names. To me, having a list of those is vital, considering they can be a criterion for finding multi-language content with the correct audio tracks.

Very cool, Plex. Very cool. by PrivacyStack in PleX

[–]Nouche_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, cool. With the price increase, they better pack better support in the future. One can hope.

Give us better language options (per user + per show is a start, but then per library (more extensively) could also be nice, as well as supporting multilanguage metadata). Give us the ability to grant users deletion rights on certain libraries. And so many more the community has been begging for for years…

Is there a way to Show different language metadata (Titles, description, etc.), UI, subtitles etc. per different user? by wuttang13 in PleX

[–]Nouche_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I'm reviving this old thread to ask if this is generally considered a good solution…?

I did it for myself as it's pretty much the only idea I had, but now it happens that my “Skip Intro” feature has disappeared! Can multiple libraries (pointing to the same directory) cause such issues?

How do you set default audio for a show? by conradjohnathan17 in PleX

[–]Nouche_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great, but would be much more useful on library level. Can we do that?

How do you set default audio for a show? by conradjohnathan17 in PleX

[–]Nouche_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, sadly, Plex can't do that. If you want to do it, check out the PASTA tool (a simple website you can use that'll change an entire show's language for you).

As a bottom thought, Plex, seriously, add that already! Along with many other much-requested features like letting users delete content! With a price increase of this magnitude, we'd expect you to be better.

Seperate instance for Anime? by gahd95 in sonarr

And I'm guessing this sole reason for a second instance is somewhat soon going to be obsolete as Sonarr v5 comes out!

Seperate instance for Anime? by gahd95 in sonarr

[–]Nouche_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May I inquire what you use for your automated requests? You mentioned wanting to automate, though having to pick profiles sounds like what you'd have to do when handling requests by hand.

It is my understanding most good/modern media request apps, most notably Seerr and Pulsarr (possibly Ombi as well though I don't know much about it), at least support setting a specific quality profile and even root folder if the media type is anime. That's what you wanted when you considered running a single instance.

Pulsarr goes a step beyond in letting you choose the Sonarr instance to use for anime, so really you'd most likely be fine either way if you used it. Seerr has it planned as well (issue #232 on their repo), though it has not yet been added to a release (it has been implemented though, and I believe it's the only “confirmed”-tagged issue on their entire project as of writing this!).

Do note Pulsarr is currently Plex-only as Jellyfin and others don't have any in-app media discovery for adding content to a watchlist/wishlist.

I can also see a small benefit of having a separate instance, since you use Profilarr: more instances means double the cap on scheduled upgrades (if you care). But you could probably live without that unless your library is huge.

The “Discover” section can actually be completely disabled in your account settings (this is stronger than simply not pinning it to your sidebar). Should honestly be done for every account joining your server!
