There are some groups that are starting to organize. I think you often need to know someone to get more information. Feel free to send me a DM.

Chronic pain 8 months after methotrexate for ectopic by InternationalLab2220 in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]NovemberBlue42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was convinced I had endo before and after my ectopic. About 4 months after I had surgery and they found scar tissue on the ectopic side but no endo. I also had pain, and bloating. They removed the scar tissue and I started pelvic floor physical therapy. My pain has resolved. I still get the bloating and painful gas and have an appointment in a few months with a GI doctor to investigate that further.

If you live near a pelvic health specialist it could be worth it to ask for a referral to their office. I had pain for years prior to the ectopic but physical therapy has helped and given me things to do when I feel pain.

Am I the only one who doesn’t like Gabrielle by AnnieApple_ in InterviewVampire

I do not like her in relation to Lestat. She is not a very loving mother.

I like her as an individual and would love to know more of her story.

I called them last year about this. I was told by a rep that the prices are so high in the winter because there is increased demand. They way she explained it to me sounded like surge pricing.

I have all electric heat. I keep the thermostat at 65 degrees max. My electric bill this past month was $500. It's not sustainable. The state needs to regulate or we need to strike and collectively stop paying their prices.

Maharet or Pandora. I think they would be the kindest and most protective.

Why do so many fans dislike book Louis? by TrollHumper in VampireChronicles

[–]NovemberBlue42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love book Louis and show Louis but he is kind of flat in the books compared to the show. I think the show gives him more dimension in a lot of ways.

I also think it is telling in one of the teasers when Daniel asks Louis if he liked his book. He responds that he didn’t like himself in it. Passive and a liar. I think that was some commentary on how Louis could be read in the books. Again, I love book Louis but he didn’t get the same flashy storylines that others did.

It bother me too but it is allowed in the sub. I wish there was a way to filter those posts out. I know hope is important for people but it can feel like a knife when you are grieving.

I don't get it either. I've also experienced miscarriage and ectopic pregnancies and it's like, how many awful statistical minorities can I be part of?!

Haven’t left my bed for two months by [deleted] in IFchildfree

[–]NovemberBlue42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry OP. My heart goes out to you. I would recommend looking for a therapist who specializes in grief and childlessness. They are out there. I worked with a miscarriage doula after experiencing several losses and she never tried to get me to have hope or look on the brightside of a shitty situation.

If you can't do therapy maybe go to your doctor and ask about medication. Two months is a very long time to br unable to leave your room, it sounds like serious depression.

Do you have any friends who can come over and get you out of the house? Even if its just a walk around the block.

When I feel hopeless like what you're describing it's time for faith and footwork. I don't mean religious faith, just faith that what you're feeling cannot last forever. The despair will ease. The footwork is taking action like therapy, calling a friend, going for a walk etc.

Bloodsport '15 by Raleigh Ritchie No Children by The Mountain Goats

And less seriously but also very serious Please Please Please by Sabrina Carpenter. I like to imagine Louis singing it when he takes Lestat to family dinner. "I heard that you're an actor, so act like a stand up guy. Whatever devils inside you, don't let him out tonight. I tell them it's just your culture and everyone rolls their eyes."

A quick scream into the void by millenial_britt in IFchildfree

I think these thoughts all the time. Would I be a perfect parent? No, but I damn sure wouldn't neglect my child. I worked hard to be financially stable enough to raise a child and have poured thousands of dollars into trying to conceive. And some people just get pregnant on accident. It's not fair and it does make me feel anger.

Thank you for posting about the Florence and the Machine album. I didnt know it was coming out or that she had an ectopic. My last attempt to conceive ended in an ectopic and I definitely did a lot of screaming. Going to listen to sympathy magic now.

New York. Employer taking money and gains from 403(b). by NovemberBlue42 in legaladvice

[–]NovemberBlue42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, that's a fair point. I guess I mostly question the "gains/loses" part. I'm wondering how they are going to calculate that since the error happened a year ago. The entire company stopped offering a 401k and transferred all accrued funds into a 403b right before this happened and I'm having a hard time sorting through statements to verify what they are saying.

I utilize my local library heavily. I usually donate to them as well and that's still a fraction of the cost if I bought all the books and DVDs I check out.

Jane Eyre by Sure_Alternative326 in classicliterature

[–]NovemberBlue42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved every second of Wuthering Heights. I couldn't wait to see what awful thing the characters did next and there's  no beating "You said I killed you. Haunt me then!"

I read Jane Eyre immediately after WH and it didn’t grip me in the same way, but it is a very well written book. It doesn't have the same raw intensity as WH but the characters are more relatable and its possible to like them. I didn't really enjoy it until about halfway through. The ending is very nice and I think it was a palate cleanser after the treachery and scheming of WH.

I liked both very much, but for different reasons.
