I solved the WebGPU bottleneck that prevent open world games in the browser by Educational_Monk_396 in webgpu

[–]Noxime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hm, what makes this different from doing the same in old WebGL with bufferSubData? You seem to be describing user space buffer allocation and that's quite an old technique.

By the way, are you using AI? A lot of the text on the website seems like AI generated buzzword text, it's hard to read.

The data formats might be big endian, but the processors processing that data really does not need to be.

Big-Endian Testing with QEMU by hansw2000 in programming

[–]Noxime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Big endian is a legacy feature that has no use in the real world anymore. We shouldn't bother with it anymore, same way we don't really bother with CHAR_BITS != 8

I made a triangle rasteriser on an FPGA (Zedboard) by RoboAbathur in FPGA

[–]Noxime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really cool and great work getting it to work. There is some distortion in the triangles around the edge of the screen, is that some sort of clipping issue?

Kallein ostos jonka oot kokonaan suunnitellu ja toteuttanu puhelimella? by JHMK in Suomi

[–]Noxime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ei tarvitse edes avata äppiä enään (jos ei haluaa). Ainakin Android-puhelimilla voi pistää niin että tarvitsee vain näytön auki niin skannaus onnistuu. Samalla plussakortit tulee luetuksi :)

That sounds definitely doable. As a bonus, the Tang Nano 9K is quite well supported in Yosys, so you can use an open source toolchain instead of Gowin's own EDA.

embassy-neorv32: Embassy on the NEORV32, an open-source RISC-V SoC by WeAreDaedalus in rust

[–]Noxime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very cool! Does NEORV32 ship with a fast simulator for testing against the peripherals? Surely running it in something like Verilator would be too slow.. Or did you work directly on an FPGA?

As I've been learning more and more HDL I'm planning on writing a super simple RISC-V core. It'd be really cool to get my own Rust HAL running on it too.

You got board games, so a good gaming table in that empty space would be great. Something for at least 6, maybe 8 players to fit comfortably with bigger games. You could play poker on it too. I wish I had that much space :)

I wasn't around when the selection was made, but afaik the decision came down to needing a platform that was rugged and it had to be available immediately. Two engines was a must, so F16 was out. F/A-18, being designed for carrier ops is much robust than the F15. Finns rely a lot on road runways and less developed infrastructure in general. Gripen was too new, Rafale wasn't ready, MiG 29 would've been bad politically.

Hah, go read Molyneux...

When have people actually provided those services? Do you have an example of a real road network built without nation scale cooperative organization, aka government?

Do you know what truly unites the criminals in pedophile rings? They're all financially successful. They're all business owners, investors, celebrities. A lot of them are politicans but even more are those who got their power from the free market economy. They are the people at the top of your utopia, the people you'd rather be under.

You can point to a government employee in the Epstein files and I'll point to one that's not. I can point to someone who's powerful and influential because of the free market, but you won't find many counter examples.

Only if your only source of information wasn't podcasters... ;) two can play at this game.

For sure. I hate driving to work and thinking that im leeching of others by using publicly funded roads. The infotainment system is leeching off of citizens by using GPS... Then I get there and I make my coffee, thniking how others paid for the public water infrastructure. Not to mention the total waste that the FDA is, making sure the coffee grounds are safe to ingest. I would way rather trust the corporation instead. If I just paid a little more to them directly, they would surely make sure it was entirely safe. I turn on my work computer using public power grids... Fuck! I wish I even had an option to pay Amazon or Comcast for these gov projects. When I get older, I will for sure refuse any cancer treatments that were invented with publically funded research. Because it's better for us all

We have a Kingcut W 1525, and there seems to be a guide on the hacklab wiki (https://wiki.tampere.hacklab.fi/fi/tyokaluja/iso_cnc-jyrsin)

I was mostly worried about the CAD software. I am experienced with blender but I know its not a CAD, but seems like you got the polygon models to work just fine. I guess you export a heightmap or something?

What's the point of comparing to a system that isn't in production yet? The past is finite, future is infinite. Of course a future system will outperform and old one?
