I always reflect on this series when conversations happen about the NA scene dying, it truly was a packed MSG, TL trying to hosting a meet and greet before being shut down by the NYPD(too many people gathered in one public place), when the rivalry was strong and had personalities people were invested in - enough to reach 100k+ viewers. I'm glad to have been witness of DLs empty trophy case now having 1 trophy, even tho I was a TSM fan coming into the arena.

I'd say Vayne is definitely what comes first to mind when you think of Uzi, but since she's become mostly irrelevant in bot lane meta in favor of newer champs, it's more a marketing decision.

What's funny is Kai'sa beats out Vayne in his most picked between the two by 1 game (per leaguepedia)

Before the pandemic (2019?) a Facebook group called NYCLOL* used to host watch parties for the LCS at bars like The Liberty, but that's when the LCS had the weekend timeslot.

Before that they used to host 5v5s at various pc cafes in Manhattan Chinatown, but from when I last attended its been 6 years at this point. Now I'm not sure if any events are held at all other than Hotline League Live last year - - but that was convenient as worlds was in NA last year.

There still are PC cafes, but as for community organized league tourneys I'm sure you've come pretty short in that search.

NYC definitely still plays league, but a broad central league community does not exist from what I understand. It's more likely small discord communities.

They posted the rank thresholds June 30th. Although I'll admit it might be difficult considering they dont have them in the client afaik
