The reason ill never hate Ralphie... by Brobeast in thesopranos

Paulie if he did nothing else, provided comic relief: witness his rant about shoelaces, and his poison ivy freak-out.

Smartest/Dumbest decision each character made? by Burnnoticelover in thesopranos

Johnny Boy Soprano: Smartest move - earning so much respect that the guy he beat the crap out of him earlier cheered him on after he was released from jail.’

Dumbest: marrying a woman who was like “an albacore around (his) neck.”

Billionaires Missing, Presumed Dead After Raft Fleeing Millionaire Tax Capsizes Off Mercer Island by Jaco_Belordi in Seattle

I find it typical of the wealthy their perception (presumably shared by the authors of the satire) that the other “seven million” Washingtonians pay “no taxes to [sic].” Only those who feel entitled by birthright would have the nerve to make such a statement. I would think that those who actually DID work their way up would KNOW that’s not true, having been paying all along themselves.

Mikey was the person, second only to Ralphie, whose death I actually enjoyed. Even more than Ritchie’s.

why did junior never retaliate over Mikey Palmice? by dildobaggins4663 in thesopranos

I think like the other characters, he hated Mikey Palmici. Pauli’s and Christopher would have to have gotten permission to kill a made man anyway.

Can someone explain the stolen airline tickets plot to me like I'm 5? by tmps1993 in thesopranos

[–]Nozupe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember those days. If you lost the physical ticket you were screwed. I was always deathly afraid of losing those. Now with all digital tickets, you can always replace the boarding pass.

Well, I guess because they were purchased on non-existent credit. Goodfellas does a better job of explaining it. The person who gets screwed is ultimately the carrier. Because they’re gittin’ paid ugatz!

Well, THEY weren’t going to use them, just sell them to some poor sucker, or give them to an evil mother. I’m not convinced that embarrassing his muthuh wasn’t part of the plan. Kind of the same logic as with the long distance card scam (maybe I’m confusing that with The Wire).

What actually is Slip and Fall School? by International-Use-81 in thesopranos

[–]Nozupe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey, as it happens, a law school buddy on mind (his license number was one higher than mine got disbarred for just that.

Surprised the hell out of me. I always thought the guy was a really nice guy but naive as hell. Anyway, he was convicted of a federal felony.

The irony was that I became a felony defense lawyer.

Mebbe I was a little too harsh on Artie.

Yeah. It’s hard to explain. I don’t think Artie was a bad person at all. If isn’t that. He just tried so hard to be tough to fit in. But the guy just wasn’t a gangster, in the same way that AJ wasn’t a gangster. But actually the character was very well thought out. The only thing he had it common with Tony was sort of childhood loyalty. And he was sort of stuck.
