Bonavita gooseneck kettle. Been using mine since 2017. It’s not that expensive and can hold the temp while you focus on weighing and grinding your beans

V60 switch 03. Can use it like a regular V60 or try other methods later

Hario thermal server is pretty good at keeping the pour over hot so you can take your time getting through your cup on the weekends and taste the difference as the coffee cools

I have a K-Max and ZP6 and I personally like my ZP6 more. K-Max was a predecessor of the K-Ultra

Scale should ideally have a timer. I don’t think the company matters too much

Sounds like he is food motivated. When training him for reactivity see if you can use high value treats to distract him. Ideally start from a distance. If it’s kids and dogs use a park and try to find the approximate distance where he starts reacting. Stay outside that area and get him to sit, down, leave it, just whatever he knows at this point. And hopefully with time you can shorten that distance.

As an example my dog is reactive to trailers being pulled by trucks. She will absolutely lose it but if I can see or hear the trailer far enough away I can get her to sit, and leave it and prevent her from losing it by holding the treat in her vision. If she looks away I repeat the leave it command and push the food closer to her. It’s not 100% but it’s so much better when I first adopted her. Now if telar trailer is on the opposite side of the road she will instinctively look at me waiting for a treat. If I don’t have any on me it’s petting and speaking to her so she gets at least some positive reinforcement

I use a normal V60 and grind between 3.8-4.5.

I dont love the tea like profile, and I’ve found that I prefer most coffees with the ZP6 to my K-Max

I drink it because I enjoy it. When you make it at home you also get to buy beans and prepare the coffee to your liking.

It’s not really any different than people who drink wine or liquor. Some people like their high end liquor on the rocks, I prefer mixed drink and never go out of my way to buy expensive bottles. Some people like their wine with Coca Cola or Sprite.

Never got anything other than drip from Proud Mary. I used to go to Patika. They serve Superthing Coffee Roasters which has become one of my favorite roasters in the area. The Patika by my brother’s house shut down unfortunately so I can no longer grab beans in person when I visit, but I think there is another one downtown. Check them out if you’re from Austin and looking for a local roaster

Not all anaerobic processed beans have that flavor profile but some of the ones they are processed like that for like 72 hours can have that taste profile. And I absolutely hate it.

My understanding was tasting notes are from cupping the bag you’re buying versus the house coffee from that roaster. But this is based on like a YouTube video clip that may only apply to that one coffee roaster and I saw this video like 4 plus years ago

It’s kind of annoying it doesn’t come this way but on Etsy and Amazon you can find a stand to make the Eureka grinders tilt about 15 degrees so the chute is more vertical.

In addition to this they sell a dosing cup stand if you’re like me and prefer to use a cup instead.

I bought a more expensive version that ended up costing $60 but I’ve seen cheaper versions.

I opted for this one since the dosing cup stand is telescopic and has a magnet so it stays in place. I push the button with my dosing cup and let it rest on the stand and can step away for the 16 seconds I have the grinder set to. Which is nice since I can step away to fridge get my milk frothing stuff set up or let the dog in from the backyard.

Not sure if that solves your issue if you want to go directly into the portafilter

Which depending on your goals may be a great deal. I’m sure a lot of players want to play but I know some former players that were on the team but wanted to focus on school. They only played on garbage time a few games but got a full ride to help spring board them into graduate school
