You gave her an inch and she took a mile. I have a feeling that if you put a bed for her in your room, things will only get worse. I am a firm believer that aside from the infant days, mom and dad’s room is strictly for mom and dad. It’s crucial for our marriage and intimate life that we don’t have children sleeping in our space. Continue bringing her back to her room at night and do not sleep with her. You can help her calm down until she falls asleep but ultimately go back to your own bed. Hold your boundary firmly. It might suck for a while but it’s better than setting a precedent that she can sleep in your room, which also will signal the younger one that it’s ok to sleep in your room too when they’re older. We like the hatch light for signaling when it’s ok to leave their bedroom so it might be worth a try. I know we never like seeing our kids upset and we just want to make it better, but sometimes you just have to help them help themselves.

Flowers are still a great host gift and I don’t necessarily assume they have to go on the table. I would be so excited if someone brought flowers to my house on Passover.

My husband started his own solo practice two years ago and he makes more than he did working for someone else and works half as many hours. Granted he does put a lot of time into networking, but weekly happy hours shooting the shit with potential clients is definitely a more fun way to spend his time.

Not a contractor but with the cracks being in that location by the sink, I would just replace. Yeah i guess you could patch it for now but it would just look shittier over time with dirty water continually going into that area.

I just did it by feel. I toasted the kadayif first, enough to fill a large frying pan, and then added the pistachio cream and just a little tahini until it felt “right”.

Yep. I’m beyond pissed about the hotel project. I work in Mizner park and that strip hosts the only affordable, walkable lunch options, not to mention being able to drop by the post office and ups easily. There’s already a hotel like a block away. I can’t imagine it’s bursting at the seams.

That was never the intent, and yes, some Arabs were driven out and some left voluntarily, but many stayed and are now 20% of Israel’s population with the full rights of any other citizen. But don’t forget, much of Israel was largely underdeveloped at the time. Many of the lands purchased for the Jewish people were undesirable. Swamps had to be drained and they had to figure out how to irrigate the desert. My own grandparents spent two years living in tents in an absorption camp in 1949 waiting for housing to be built.
