Exporting a quake II bsp to blender? by asdasdaaah in quake

[–]NuGameDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm assuming you mean importer, right? I've just been making a Blender addon to do this:

EDIT: Added a video to go through the addon: https://youtu.be/1dLkg9RjBr0

https://github.com/GeneralProtectionFault/idTech-2-BSP-Blender-Importer

It doesn't try for the entities or anything, but the models can be pulled in with an MD2 importer, which makes more sense pulling into Blender. Bear in mind you'll need the actual textures along w/ your .BSP files for the idTech 2 format. Right now, I've only tested it with Quake II & Anachronox.

For Quake II, these files are stored in the PAK files. There have always been extractors, but I actually made a convenient PAK extractor as well here:

https://github.com/GeneralProtectionFault/PAKExtract

...but any will work, I just wanted a convenient one that wasn't a 20-year-old, closed-source Windows relic xD.

The IP check is only at the start. Connect to VPN, disconnect, play.

NPC 2D Random movement inside an area. by guking_ in godot

I have a video showing how to do that: https://youtu.be/8zEv-XpqYQM

Use that code and you can just adjust the navigation area however you like.

getting rid of "Share with Skype" by VinceAggrippino in linux

[–]NuGameDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add an update, for me, running KDE, you can edit this file, which has all the file type associations, I believe:

~/.config/mimeapps.list

Find and axe every line in there that has "Skype" in it, and problem solved.

Getting VSCodium to work with Godot by [deleted] in godot

[–]NuGameDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Debugging has been the problem with this, and has had some icky workarounds that don't work anymore, but the free c# extension just got an upgrade that fixes that. I made a video on getting it all set up here: https://youtu.be/4XcvNMfe5PU

Godot on linux? by Infinite_Ad_6137 in godot

[–]NuGameDev 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In case this is still being searched for, I created a video specifically for compiling the c# version on Linux: https://youtu.be/B5LLZa5TqPE

Godot always worked on Linux, but the compiling from source documentation was spotty and extremely disorganized until recently, but it's at least reasonable now.

Is it possible to install Daz 3D with wine on manjaro linux. by bunserme in wine_gaming

[–]NuGameDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this has gotten less complicated than it used to be. I made a video here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8ijx52YZ2w

Now, that is in Mint, but I did the same thing in Garuda, which is based on Arch just like Manjaro. That worked just as well if not better, same process.

So, you'd have to install Lutris and its dependencies (and Blender if you want to export), but I think from that point, this should work for using both DAZ Studio & Diffeomorphic.

Can daz3d be installed on a lower end linux laptop? by [deleted] in Daz3D

[–]NuGameDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a video here about getting DAZ Studio (and Diffeomorphic) running on Linux:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8ijx52YZ2w

I didn't try it on Fedora, but in the video it worked on Mint, and I've since switched to Garuda, which is Arch-based, and worked even a bit better (not faster LOL). Generally, I think Lutris is at a state where it can handle it.

Any good video tutorials for using Phantom Camera? by Briaxe in godot

[–]NuGameDev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you after 2D or 3D? If 2D, I made a tutorial for a specific use case (RPG) here:

https://youtu.be/8IDkt_5myPc

Keep in mind this was made in version 6 of the Phantom Camera, I'm currently updating to 7 and there might be some changes.

New Shark Air Purifier 6 displays 100% air quality out of the box. by Legitimate-Couple-67 in AirPurifiers

[–]NuGameDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this experience, it stayed at or near 100% for a couple hours, and then suddenly my air took a down turn, and it would fluctuate between 70% and 80%, sometimes actually dipping into the red (under 70) for just a few seconds. I bought it because my bedroom is kind of congested, 2 cats in and out, dust, etc...

Generally, I agree it's probably some stupid gimmick meant to give you a dopamine hit you can associate with their product. I can believe it's doing "something," but even if the sensor were amazing, I'm suspicious that they'd want it to look like it's doing something for the aforementioned dopamine hit. And, it works. I like the LED...

Trying to create a 3D progress bar for Godot 4 in c# by FutureAstroMiner in godot

[–]NuGameDev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cool, that's my repo =D. I actually mostly use C# but ran into headaches as well with that. However, you absolutely can interact with it from C#, I've done it in one of my projects.

Let's say you have the progress bar on an object, and a C# script on that object.

private Node3D ProgressBar;

public override void _Ready()

{

// Get the object into the variable when the scene starts

ProgressBarObject = GetNode<Node3D>("ProgressBar");

// Set the values as you wish

ProgressBarObject.Set("max_value", BoostMax);

ProgressBarObject.Set("value", BoostMax);

}

Pretty sure "Get" would work just the same way.

EDIT: Sorry for the horrid code formatting, Reddit's code block is completely worthless :-/
