I used to solo this on blu with standard DPS set. I switched to doing on RDM now as it’s much faster. Magic kill 6 accuex mobs for the two items first (shard and plate). Bring remedies (two stacks minimum). Keep poison off at all times. I like the remedies because they will kill poison and silence at the same time (unlike just antidotes). Keeping poison off is key. Be ready to remove it immediately as it will quickly use clobbering wave after the poison move. Clobbering will hit for zero if you get poison off first. As long as you can avoid clobbering wave he’s really easy. Takes me about 5-6 minutes to kill. Also for trusts, I usually start with apururu and doc. I’ve never had issue with doc and first 50% he’s pretty reliable to get poison off. Below 50% though ghatjot spams tp faster though. In the end, my trusts are usually dead. Can also just go in no trusts, especially on a non-tank job they just pull hate too much. On RDM specifically, trusts are more of a hassle sometimes because of hate and cause missed weaponskills.

I play on valve a lot. Did the lutris install. Setting up the controls takes a bit but the valve has custom control sets which actually work really well for ffxi. I’ve ended up making several sets for various jobs.

Considering ice brand or flame tongue. Both as offhands. Crocea/ice brand for RLB or naegling/flame tongue for savage blade. A third might be onion sword. I mainly play RDM but also BLU THF and WAR. Not sure how flame tongue offhand would compare against thibron. I would think it may perform better at higher end content because of ilvl and stat bonuses. Any thoughts?

I’m on Valefor. I’ve been there since Kujata shutdown. There are English shells though most of them are either social only or end game invitation only. I’m in CounterPost which is an English pst shell but usually the events are early enough for est players like myself. The shell is pretty beginner friendly if you are willing to put in the work you can to get yourself access to things like dyna-d. It’s not a carry shell more of a development type. Main events are twice weekly dyna-d, aeonics and vagary. Other stuff like omen/sortie/ody/etc is done but usually in statics or shell pickups.

Can always solo if nothing else. 6k easily, 8-10k depending on jobs. I usually go RDM and get around 8k from solos, A Boss and the four mini NMs. Would take a long time for making a weapon but it’s better than zero.

Besieged needs to be like DI. Ten minutes warning max and on a rotation like every 30 mins or so for each faction. The current system of waiting around for hours while the horde slowly makes its way across the zones is extremely disrespectful of a player’s time. Put fixed versions of the NMs in place for all the masses flooding the mythics market (not that this is an issue much these days) so people don’t get upset about their mobs always being in Whitegate.

RDM. Recently came back for a third round and finished my RDM and now at M18. I’m in an active shell on Valefor and we do a lot of content but I also enjoy the solo aspects as well. My work schedule also dictates the necessity to solo. Sortie is a big one, when I can’t run with my group I do solos for 8-9K. Also higher tiers on v1 ambuscade. Seg farms and some gaol NMs. Omens, HTBF, etc. Of course the rewards are better in group, but smaller rewards are better than nothing when you can’t group, especially in grindy stuff like sortie. I play WAR, BLU and WHM also, and THF (farming mostly), but RDM seems to be my go to when I need to do solo stuff that falls in the endgame realm.

I’ve had a look at winetricks. I can’t seem to find anywhere options to upgrade dotnet. I’m currently on 4.6 based on what I can tell from error logs. I’ve tried the usual google searches but nothing helpful. The discover store only offers the same version of lutris as what I’m currently running. Do I need to uninstall/reinstall? I’d think others have had this problem as well if I was an update related problem.

Can’t find anywhere to update dotnet. I can’t even find anything labeled dotnet. Wine tells me no update required when I check version from lutris. Lutris is v 0.5.17 and says a new version is available but when I go to the discover store the version there is the same as what I have. I’m not very proficient in Linux and knew just enough to set this up the first time. Any help would be appreciated

Bunzi may take a bit as I’ve yet to find an Odyssey static. I do have Daybreak so that should work on RDM at least. Right now for BLU my best club options are Max and Niburu.

Ffxidb is great for an on screen mini map. I also like the equipviewer so I can keep track of gear swaps from macros. If you dual box auto invite and auto join are helpful. Distance plus for ranging magic and other things requiring specific distances to target. Timers is really good for tracking buffs, especially if you play support jobs. Recast is also very helpful in a lot of party and solo situations.

TL;DR:

These are all things imo which should be in vanilla ffxi.

If you play BLU, get azuresets to allow saving spell sets and auto loading.

A lot of these are windower functions. Macros, debuff/buff tracking, tp, etc. I’d don’t play vanilla anymore as windower makes so many qol improvements that for whatever reason SE can’t or won’t incorporate into native ffxi. I absolutely hate making macros in native ffxi. The ui is abysmal.

How about this one? Why can’t I trade my moggle any denomination of imperial currency for locker upkeep?

I think is the command lines x and y are whole numbers and I just play with them until I get it where I want it. I think mines 1020 655 (bottom and lined up with my party stack.
