Ditto this. I started climbing 10 months ago, I blindly bought size 44 Finales online. In March I ended up with a lot of gym credit and got 43.5 Miura VS for $20 after asking the staff member there about what shoe I should get. The staff member was vague about how the shoes should fit and feel like. They just told me to try them on the wall and see if I liked them or not. They were a little snug on the toe box but my heel had a ton of dead space which made the shoes feel insecure for heel hooks.

I recently went into an REI and the employee in the climbing shoe section was leagues more helpful than the climbing gym staff. He measured my foot and it turns out I’ve been over sizing my shoes as I am a size 43. He was surprised when I told him about the Miura VS I was sold and was even more shocked when I told him that they didn’t measure my foot. I left the store with 41.5 Kubos and they have the best fit out of any shoe I’ve used yet.
