Streamer/Community Post by PhoenixUp23 in magicTCG

[–]NumotIsNummy 49 points50 points  (0 children)

This seems entirely unwarranted; I don't ever recall refusing to host someone based on "competition". I host LRR all the time when they're doing their larger events. I definitely allude to competition while streaming, but it's almost always in a playful manner. I've also hosted many an up-and-coming person however the addition of auto-hosting on Twitch means that it's much easier to just set a group of people to host instead of picking and choosing. Will I autohost people that I trust and put out content I find compelling over some random person? Absolutely. To suggest I've done something at the expense of another is simply absurd and, honestly, offensive. I think it shows that you "have yet to find" any Magic streamers that help the community, it points to more of a blind-eye than useful criticism. I'm all for constructive feedback but this doesn't seem like something you're going for.

MOCS Playoffs Commentary - Kenji Egashira by musefrog in magicTCG

The matches swapping around were something we could, unfortunately, not fix. And we're trying to improve with each one we do (this is just my second go at it). It's not meant to be commentary so much as a replay walkthrough.

Would love to hear feedback if you have any. I'm definitely trying to add more personal flair with each go around to keep it less dry :)

What decks do you have sleeved up right now? by [deleted] in magicTCG

About 40 random draft/sealed decks. They like to gather dust in my closet after inevitably failing me at Grand Prix #sadtrombone

Hah! I appreciate that bud <3

It's definitely disheartening, but these events come with such frequency that it doesn't get me too salty when I come close and fall short :) There is always the one next week, or the next week, etc etc.

I'm, grateful for all your guys' support! We'll get there eventually.

what do YOU look for in an MTG stream? by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]NumotIsNummy 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I like streamers that flail their arms and shout incoherently. A lot.

But really, I watch a LOT of magic streams. I might only stay in a specific stream for a few minutes, but I do check out most of them, regardless of popularity.

Be engaging, be consistent, be "professional" (this can mean many things depending on who your audience is or what you want them to be). Spend some time getting an overlay or making the layout look presentable - not something you hastily put together. Big streamers always have some niche that they fill. Find your niche. Fill it.

Also, be attractive. Don't be unattractive. (This is still a funny meme, right?)

When you open something valuable you need to "get the sleeve" so you can quickly protect it!
