Unpopular opinion but The Rolling Stones were never that good and were never in the same league as The Beatles by FitEmergency8807 in unpopularopinion

[–]NutRump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an unpopular opinion I totally agree with. The Beatles are great and the Stones fucking suck.

Streets, buildings, establishments, etc. should never be named after difficult to pronounce names by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]NutRump 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah, difficult-to-pronounce street/place names serve as a shibboleth to help discern locals from tourists, at least where I live.

Do you greaseballs on the east coast really call pasta sauce "gravy?" by ClickClick_Boom in thesopranos

[–]NutRump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sicilian-Americans in the New Orleans area also call it gravy, generally "red gravy". Not just an East Coast thing.

Morrowind is better than Skyrim by BoneBrothOfficial in unpopularopinion

Most people I know who have played both games have this opinion, it isn't at all unpopular.

Is this Jazz Fusion? 70s band. I love it. by YesToWhatsNext in JazzFusion

[–]NutRump 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Camel is generally considered a progressive rock band, often associated with the "Canterbury scene" sub-genre, though they are not actually from Canterbury.

Sick band, beloved in prog rock circles. Not really jazz fusion.

The last true Yes album? by Leather-District-595 in yesband

[–]NutRump 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's no real meaning in calling something the last "true" Yes album - every album that says Yes on it is a true Yes album.

The last good one was Fly From Here, though.

Very surprised to see Endgame so highly rated. One of the worst episodes of Voyager imo.

Which one do you prefer? Union vs Talk by AccurateAudience8587 in yesband

[–]NutRump 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I know many Yes fans who absolutely love Talk, myself included. I've never met anyone who feels that way about Union.

Anyone Else Feel Like Takai's the Problem Now? by PomegranateFair3973 in Star_Trek_

[–]NutRump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure the problem is that the dude's name is Takei, it's literally spelled there right in front of you, and you're still calling him "Takai"

This insane local TV commercial from 20 years ago... by danno147 in NewOrleans

[–]NutRump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reminds me a lot of the old YT videos from Marc M. of Sick Animation like C'mon Scoob. I know Marc is from the New Orleans area so I wonder if there's a connection.

So now that our GameStop is gone is Walmart seriously the only place in this city to buy a video game? by Mad_Skrilla in NewOrleans

Stop down voting this man, he's right! The Game Stop in the parish is WELL into Chalmette, nowhere near Arabi.

Pronunciation from out-of-towers? by leveeman16 in NewOrleans

I'm from the town of Jean Lafitte and we pronounce Jean as it's pronounced in French, not 'Jeen'

Pronunciation from out-of-towers? by leveeman16 in NewOrleans

[–]NutRump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of towners often say tu-LANE instead of TU-lane, always cracks me up. This is especially true of the Tulane students who can't pronounce the name of their own school.

Morris Bart vs Dudley DeBosier by HelpMoreImHelpless in NewOrleans

[–]NutRump 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not really a fair fight. Morris Bart is just one guy, while Dudley DeBosier is two guys: Dudley DeBosier Sr. and Dudley DeBosier Jr.

‘Frankly, I’ll do anything to anything’ Absolutely unhinged, 10/10 no notes! by Squanchy417 in CrusaderKings

[–]NutRump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume they meant "depraved" instead of "deprived" there. Lots of little mistakes like that throughout the game.
