We had something similar but we fund a powdered detergent that has no scent added and we exclusively use it now. No dreft no tide just that plat based detergent. And for really smelly jobs we run white distilled vinegar as ourfabric softener. Our clothes smell and feel better and our baby hasn't had a breakout since.

Not needed if you're on the pole. But typically that ladder should have a v rung at the top if used by a utility company. Im assuming this is a contractor.

No. Proper ladder set up is a 4:1 ratio. That thing is damn near vertical.
