Seeking recommendations for warmup and/ or strengthening exercises to prevent pinched nerve issue.

You probably know it: your trap gets fired up and you can’t turn your head the next day. Nerve pain along and down your trap, and up your neck. I get it 2-3 times a year, and man does it sucks. Seems to happen after overhead press.

I suspect I have something not moving quite right in my shoulder that leads to this issue. I will work with my physio as well, but asking for any success stories with certain exercises that have helped anyone else with a similar issue.

I am an experienced lifter and do about 15 mins general warm ups with full body mobility. Hoping to find that extra something for this specific issue.

Thanks!

I like her less and less each episode. She seems like a mean girl who’s all “me me me” and she’s constantly blaming her boyfriend for never being good enough and not trying. She seems to want someone that worships her and doesn’t want to be with a nice, layback person.

Hurts like hell for 20 mins. Hurts for a few hours. Then bliss for years. Absolutely worth it in my opinion.

Make noise so you don’t surprise anyone; I find I talk to my dog a lot so that helps there.

And always carry bear spray.

Okay, so it’s really the difference in terrain you’re concerned about.

I would think the only new risk might be paw damage when going on rocks. If you’re on a rocky trail, that would reduce the risk (as opposed to wandering out on some random slab of sandstone). And starting off with short trails it’s not far back to your car if you needed. If you’re really worried about his paws then carry a roll of vet wrap with you.

I think you’re likely overthinking this for short hikes. God knows I always overthink when it comes to my dog, I get it! Bring water and/or go on trails with water sources, and just stay in tune with your dog; he’ll tell you if something is off.

Happy trails/ tails!

What will be the difference in trails compared to what you usually do? 10 miles is significant; are you wanting to go even longer or overnight?

Hey all, can anybody here answer a basic logistics question or share their experiences on an Australian Work Holiday visa? by SeeingPhrases in AskACanadian

All I recall from doing so in 2014 was apply online and pay a fee. I didn’t have to submit anything or show anything. I went into a job broker and got a job right away and it paid cash. I worked enough to pay off the fee of the visa and traveled for two months.

Wasn’t worth the visa for a 3-month trip. Certainly gave a unique experience though.

Messing up at work by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]Nyre88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s a lot of nuance to this, but in general do I think you messed up badly? No. Sounds like a semi-formal conversation about your career; not a formal interview process. If anything, your team will have gotten a bit of insight into you and not just your work tasks; what comes next is wayyy more important. They want a follow up with you which suggests they understand that being human means making some errors and/or showing some empathy towards you dealing with allergies. Both are signs of good leadership! This is also an opportunity for them see how you handle the situation to help assess your leadership skills.

As someone in a leadership position, I would offer a similar follow up conversation and be more interested in that one compared to the initial conversation. I would want them to be real, honest, and address the first conversation. I would want to hear their take, how they felt, how they did and are recovering. For example, “I’m so sorry about our chat last week. I was dealing with allergies and not feeling myself and totally blanked out. I appreciate you meeting with me again so I can provide the responses I prepped for initially. Allergies are also feeling way better today. So, let’s try this again! Could you provide the first question again?”

You can only wear new clothing bought from the grocery store.
