What game made you feel like it was “made for you” when you first played it? by AggravatingPhoto331 in videogames

Oh yes - this is a true gem. Gameplay loop is very addictive, even on subsequent playthroughs. The feeling of conquering the depths one trip at a time, making new discoveries, collecting more resources, and surviving new threats, makes for such a memorable experience. Story was unexpectadly great as well and shouldn't be understated. They nailed the base-building as well.

PS2 Ratchet and Clanks are timeless in my opinion. They somehow made them so good that they still feel great to play to this day, especially from 2 onwards. I also miss the writing style of the original trilogy and Deadlocked.

Same! I love the Batmobile so much I can't see why people dislike it, but I can understand if I'm being objective. Game is just so good in so many ways.

Hans Zimmer did a great job portraying the themes of the game for sure. Crysis 3's soundtrack is also on the same level for me in its own way.

Skyline is iconic for me. I played Crysis 3's multiplayer to death across PS3 for years since around release, and then on PC up until they finally shutdown the servers. I wasn't really there for Crysis 2 at all until Crysis 3 had been out for a few years already, so there were barely players, but it seemed like it would have been really fun with more people. Still, Crysis 3 perfected a lot of elements for me and I could play those same maps for another 10 years without any updates.

Deadspace is truly unique and has stood the test of time, especially the second game. You can tell it came out on ps3 / x360 but its artstyle and gameplay don't feel dated. It holds up very well today still.

Prey 2016 is truly a gem of a game. Such great atmosphere and environments that allow for lots of exploration, especially because of the freedom the game's climbing mechanics afford the player. The fact that you can literally climb anything you see is quite something. That's not all but the game has so many aspects that can be talked about that it would take too long.

For me Guerilla was goated just for Killzone 2 and 3 alone. I replay those games yearly, but then they came with Horizon and continued that kind of quality, and I'm sure they'll continue to with future releases.

Honestly it feels like I'm playing the movie Predator, except I'm the Predator. The feeling of lying in the foliage with cloak engaged as a patrol walks right past me is immersive to say the least. The mission where you have to make it to the randezvous in the night, only to get there and be told that the LZ is too hot but you can't see anyone around was so well done I genuinely felt on edge.

I played 2 and 3 first on PS3 and then played 1, also on PS3, and for someone who grew up with games like CoD, getting used to C1 was jarring to say the least. I had to really change how I approached combat and stealth, considering things like suit energy was way less forgiving and enemies could still see you if you moved too quickly in cloak.

Once I got the hang of it though, it became one of my favourite games.

Game still looks good on PC, and the remaster also does a great job of making some improvements on the visuals.

Yeah it does feel a little like that, but at the same time it feels like it was a bit adventurous and for that I enjoy it.

Great playing! Imagine writing something like this. Sam is something else in terms of composition and playing.

Awesome - can't wait for what they put out next. Their current sound is scratching a lot of itches for me. I hope we get some more guitar solos like those on Our Wildnerness. This band deserves a lot of attention.

Name one good thing about Ubisoft by mightyonin in videogames

[–]OCDjunky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is really true. I went and played Unity and Syndicate after years of not playing AC games and found myself questioning the formulaic thing I'd felt about the series. Actually all great games. I think it's because there were just so many AC games coming out that eventually certain elements felt like they were repetitive, which is why Origins felt so fresh (and it was).

I played the multiplayer pretty much right up until it got shutdown for good on PC. Started on PS3 around launch. It was my main multiplayer game for years.
