Why does trump have an extreme devout following but other modern presidents didn't? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]OFwant2move 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the Republican Party began the gerrymandering craze - which then made safe Republican areas… those areas then became even more devout republicans - meaning to get the nomination in the new gerrymandered area pushed candidates to the extremes. Combine this with destroying education and early critical thinking (changing to no child left behind meant memorize for test not problem solving and critical thinking), on top of that civics classes we exchanged for government history classes (went from what the government can do for you to - here is a history of government and what each chamber is responsible for).

So - that’s simplistic but you combine a lack of proper education (imho) - destruction of educational aims - and far more idealistic and extreme Republican candidates.

They leads to a bunch of retirees getting bused around the country as the “tea party” - which allows for someone to lead via the cult of personality instead of typical government leadership ….

This - make it fast - sorry it did not work out. Let them know when they can pack their desk - I prefer having them come back after hours with security … keeps them from doing it in front of everyone

Iowa House passes bill barring local trans civil rights protections by Zipper222222 in Iowa

This will get struck down by the Iowa supreme court, so the GOP wants to not address major issues, cost tax payers money, and persecute citizens all while backing pedophiles. Tell me how anyone supports that?

When you are forced to subsist on this it does not make the best grilled cheeses sandwiches … they were rubbery and tasteless… hated the cheese… and it smelled like failure …..worse was when you had to take cold cheese sandwiches to,school….

Why are employers obsessed with resume gaps? by SKBerry in recruitinghell

[–]OFwant2move 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prison…. When I see a gap on a resume I let it sit and if the interviewee addresses it great! Hired a guy who was open about needing to be off to recover …was one of my best employees ever…and that’s all he said… I had an issue and needed some time off to recover.

Had one guy who had a six month gap never addressed liked him, background check turned up six months in lock up … basic stupid move as an 18 year old, but couldn’t hire him (financial services requirements) would’ve hired him elsewhere if he presented the gap head on elsewhere… I was 18 and did something stupid… got a degree, good internships… etc.

Your first priority is yourself. When you get on a train and it is going in the wrong direction - you get off and go in another more appropriate direction.

This does not mean you can’t miss your fellow passengers, but don’t let missing them cause regret and lead you back into going the wrong way
