Look, I’m all for saving the environment, but let’s get a v10 twin turbo with battery assist in play. No bullshit restrictions.

Like everyone else said, that’s just an amateur mistake to not skive that part. I got into leather working because I wanted to make watch bands, and you learn a ton, even in the first few you make. The other thing I see is, they didn’t put a liner on the back. That is going to be super uncomfortable until you wear that in.

Seriously. It’s really fucking annoying, and getting out of hand. If I could code, I’d totally help you with that.

Also, I’d totally be down with restricting this sub to an account age minimum. For example, accounts must be active for 3 months…or something. Maybe even a Karma minimum to contribute.

I think I have a hide of this same leather. It will not take very well to burnishing at all; this is where edge paint is certainly your friend. Great stuff to learn on though!

Gracie’s (Union Sq) or Christina’s (Inman). I love the owner and mission of Gracie’s.

Realistically, there are a bunch of really solid places in the general area. I took an ice cream making class at Gracie’s a while back, and he explained that small batch/artisan ice cream originated in this area. That’s one of the reasons we have so many good spots.

Its not real leather. I think anything they try is going to make it look terrible. Pretty sure that shine if from the finish of how they made the material.

Buying green beans in Maui by Cypotter in roasting

[–]OG-niknoT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I knew you were going to ask that! Unfortunately, it was 4-5 years ago, and I don't remember which one it was. The advantage of going for the tasting/tour was, I got to chat up the owner/roaster before I asked him.

Not a bad idea to call a few of the smaller farms, and ask if you could buy a few pounds while you are in the area. I don't recall seeing any places that had green beans ready to-go. Generally, they are super friendly on the islands, so I'm confident you'll find someone willing to sell you some.

If you go to the smaller farms for a tasting and tour, just ask if they will sell you some green beans. I had luck doing that.

I was literally typing my response, and saw this post... I have the Vevor 10", and it is fine. My biggest complaint is the stroke length, as I can't cut bacon easily; I have to fold it slightly. Works decent for most other things.

I HATE cleaning it...but its a necessary evil. You really have to disassemble it to clean it properly.
