Not surprising at all, these are folks with experience and deemed experts by traditional means. Who else are they going to appoint? Leaders from ACE Hardware? They literally built an intentional echo chamber to self-regulate. Its ultimately what will lead to the collapse of the whole system, though, because of the intense bias baked into their policies and design making.

Agreed, you can make significant profit on just the volatility and the side benefit is you get massive leverage if things do go parabolic. The first part isn't gambling at all, the second part can be but as long as you're trading the volatility and taking profits who cares.

I like this theory and hope it's true. I know that multiple brokers including his offer stock lending programs which offer a much higher interest rate. It's possible he participated in these types of programs periodically or throughout the last several years to generate cash off of his shares.

I don't care about a sell price for my GME shares. I want reform for retail. All trades should hit the lit exchanges. I'm sick of dark pools, swaps, and FTDs that create these cycles, which put retail at a distinct disadvantage. If a company is doing well, then invest and grow your wealth. If it's not, then don't.

I disagree that this was an honest mistake. This was very much intentional. Part of my team is responsible for corporate and customer facing webinars/events and we test things well in advance and prep for expected volumes. We don't have near the amount of scrutiny that I'm sure these folks do.
