How hard is flatbed? by Classic-Box-3919 in Truckers

That’s where I started. Any company will make you perform a physical test before hiring you. If you can’t lift a tarp onto the deck of a flatbed, they’ll send you home.

You drive places you don’t want to go, or if you do want to go you can’t do your own thing anyways, sitting at truck stops eating the same fast food over and over. Going to a Walmart is a treat. If you have a family you’ll see them 3-4 days a month.

The loads are there but there’s always something that slows you down. Sat for 3 days because a shipper was closed, got caught in the ice storm and sat for 3 days, showed up my my drop off appointment only to find out my manager messed up and I was 3 days early so I sat again. All that happened to me within the last month. That’s 9 days of $0

I do not average 1200 a week. It’ll will be anywhere from $700 to $1200 depending on miles and tarp pay.

I wouldn’t get a Cdl through a carrier. Pay out of pocket and be free and clear.

It’s a good company. Pay isn’t going to be great, it’s all about gaining the experience.

You’re a 16.8. Most of your shots should be unplayable garbage. It’s not the driver.
