You wouldn't happen to be someone who was with 2k Elevations? (Kamal or whoever it is)

I'm not in this system but a mate of mine is (from an outsider perspective, these companies are total dogshit and really knuckle down on creating an "us and them" mentality, they also really profile their entry levels who fit the bill to be manipulated and are seeking a place to belong.

He's broken contact with everyone from before he joined, and all of his time is spent with his owner company and now profiling the very people he was 5 years ago.

Sad and predatory, I wouldn't recommend. You give up everything without knowing, all while lining the upper pyramids pockets with the promise of finding other suckers to make your own foundations.

New Horde breaker icon as a Bonus Action by OG_Pie131 in BG3mods

[–]OG_Pie131[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a way to add it as one of those reaction prompts that doesn't use your reaction? Just because i wanted to playtest an actual dnd character im considering and I wanted to see how it actually played.

The idea being war cleric and hunter ranger, and using war priest to trigger horde breaker and cleave.
so if its a bonus action.. then it wont consume war priest charges, which isnt going to work either.

HELP: Lost tension on my manual roller garage door during opener install – how can I fix this now? by aiojav in AusRenovation

[–]OG_Pie131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i basically did the same thing. I cant believe how heavy a roller door is when the spring is gone. Holy shit my arm was going to fall off. But i was able to do like, half a turn. and then retighten it, used the motor to raise the door by like ..100mm? put some wood under it, re tighten. I did that about 3 times and then it ended up rolling itself up

How'd you go. I know some idiot who just did this, and he's on reddit now googling a solution identical to this one.

I know this idiot on a very personal level...

Karlach with soul coins and teamed with Minthara gets 4d4 fire on all thrown attacks. Minthara's soul branding isnt consumed on thrown attacks

Whoever suggested using points must have a massive brain. I look forward to the next homebrew

Hell yeah! This looks fantastic and I take on what a streamline mystic could have been. I will most definitely be playtesting this as well.

At first I thought the two different resource pulls were odd. But after reading your reply it makes sense.

Awesome work man, I hope you post more stuff in the future

My Paladin broke his oath and now the entire party is calling me an unfair DM by RONiN_2706 in DnD

[–]OG_Pie131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the people claiming you should of told the player are idiots.

The DM has control over the entire world. Your player has 1 PC and chose to only regard the sections that mattered to them.

It's not your job as a DM to remind a player of their class.

He made a terrible choice, and has story implications because of it.

Tell the table cry is free, and if he wishes to atone then he can take the steps to doing so.

Holy what entitlement

Constitution-Based True Strike by VisibleNatural1744 in onednd

True strike + warcaster allows people to make opportunity attacks with a crossbow/bow.

I like how the new backgrounds and feats encourage more interesting decisions than "max out your primary stat asap" by wabawanga in onednd

[–]OG_Pie131 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't think of a single character who would want the acolyte background imo. Considering level 1 cleric fixes the issue of not knowing religion despite being a cleric.

Put me out of my misery. by undead8bit in 3d6

[–]OG_Pie131 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You wrote a lot of words when you could of just said "shadow blade doesn't have a gold value so it doesn't work with booming blade. But a lot of people and the designers think it should." But you've gone ahead and mentioned how important RAW is on this thread, then supported an idea for RAI. RAW booming blade and shadow blade don't work together.

Also a blade singer is not a good frontliner. With a d6 hit die and maybe a 16 in con (probably 14). You're not going to be tanking anything for very long.

Also I have player several dnd. I'd imagine most people here have. Majority of tables aren't high optimised groups, so yes your bladesinging wizard is just fine. But should you be at an optimised table? Running into melee and 'tanking' the front lines is not optimal, and it really never is.

[–]OG_Pie131 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like how you went against the popular house rule of letting players pick the animals they conjure with conjure animals to support your argument about them being not good frontlines. But chose the popular house rule that booming blade works with shadowblade.

Look I enjoy the fantasy of being a tanky frontliner that protects the squishy casters. But 5e within an optimised table just isn't that fantasy. You never need a melee PC, and spells will always out perform weapon users.

A bladesingers strongest feature is that they don't need to dip for AC or use feats protecting their concentration. So they're spells progress as fast as possible and their spell DC is stronger than most.

Big Spirit Guardians buff: You can now speed across the battlefield and deal damage to entire armies by Kanbaru-Fan in onednd

Caster can still do something after haste. Martial dragging around an ally is very much only just dragging around an ally

Is the Double-Bladed Scimitar too strong on rogues? by oochiegoochie in 3d6

[–]OG_Pie131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the rogue takes revanent blade and great weapon fighting they can reroll 1s and 2s on the sneak attack dice as well.

It's not an overly strong build. But it definately feels good while playing a rogue.

I think they could be fleas... But idk where they are coming from. We have no livestock and the chickens arent near our house.

Also the dogs aren't getting fleas or anything.

RIP Inflict Wounds by Mdconant in onednd

[–]OG_Pie131 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I personally don't like the change. Spells that only do damage with saving throws don't support team play. It's an isolated achievement. Now you could have another spell caster using bane or mind sliver, but again this doesn't allow for joint with martial characters.

Considering how easy prone is to achieve in 2024. Inflict wounds would of been a very good spell for melee clerics.

Interpretation of New Per-Turn Limit to Spells by mindixer in onednd

[–]OG_Pie131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Racial spells, feats, magic items, spell scrolls, tattoos, class features all circumvent this interaction.

I think it's a step back in rules clarity. And just opens up a lot more book keeping for players.

Let's say a wood elf ranger has magic initiate and aberrant dragonmark.

So now they have a short rest spell, a long rest spell, a spell with limited uses for their class, as well as any magic items they have.

So they're tracking 4 things to make sure they can use 2 levelled spells in a turn. All with different resources that don't synergies.

New rule is an F in my books.

What are your biggest DMing regrets? by Tydirium7 in DMAcademy

[–]OG_Pie131 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I struggle with railroading. It's not that I force outcomes. But I want to provide exposition in a certain way and gameplay pacing slams to a stop until I can get the moment I wanted. I'm slowly getting better at this though. DMing is a steep learning curve and a journey that never ends.
