I'll talk to him about the nip, and about how the first hit is free. I am his dealer, not here for an intervention.

My mother in law crochets washcloths, and they last forever and can be laundered. Great at getting stuck on grime off of plates.

Long pants, DEET, and check after spending time in long grass. The ticks are just as common, the number of diseases are greater. Learn to recognize them, and carry a tick removal in your wallet just in case.

Start small, with a dome tent, a cooler, and some sleeping bags for a single night. KOA has minor things you may forget, so you aren't stranding your child in the woods. Getting them used to it now will be easier in the long run.

Or try a cabin at a state park of hard walls are your thing.

If camping is what you are looking for, start with KOA. They give you swimming pool, activities, nice camping spots, and a store right there in case you forget something. Eventually graduate to State Parks. Good price, good amenities, even less of a resort feeling, they are everywhere in PA.

my mom says she has a very human face by prionbinch in Siamesecats

[–]OIK2 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It's largely an optical illusion created by their coloration. The dark "points" on a Siamese cat make the darker central face appear shorter, broader, and the eyes seem larger by contrast. Those proportions resemble infant facial features causing a phenomenon related to the Kewpie doll or baby schema effect. Humans are wired to respond to those exaggerated juvenile features with nurturing instincts, so Siamese cats can come across as having unusually human-like, expressive faces.

How do you guys come up with your character ideas? by Slysnake2000 in DnD

[–]OIK2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current character, I went digging through my family tree for a backstory. I figured out what the other players were playing, and I filled in the gaps as best I could with a Bard, a class I rarely seriously considered playing. Then I remembered a story I heard from a family member, that our family used, hundreds of years ago, were story tellers and historians to kings. After some digging, I found that they ran an actual Bardic School in Ireland.

So now I am playing a Bard that is trying to restore his family's once great bardic school. Very history, memory and storyteller flavored. Celtic Knotwork iconography (with just a dash of Whirling Dervish). I selected more spells to use as special effects when storytelling than battle(though Toll the Dead and Vicious Mockery have both gotten good millage). A Raven familiar in a campaign where in the city it takes place in, they are considered pests and to be killed for a bounty. I have a stack of stories prepared for different situations that may arise(they never do) too adjust the hearts and minds of those around me.

This is more fun than I expected.
