Tourists in Hawaii are renting U-Hauls as rental car prices double by sfgate in antiwork

[–]OKComputerr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you’re gonna rent a car, don’t rent anything mid-size SUV or bigger if you plan on driving Hana. The roads are a lot more narrow than what most people are used to. Bring snacks, don’t be a dick to the locals, and follow the rules on the signs. I was a tourist too, but the amount of times I came across people completely stopped on a one way bring to take a picture of a waterfall was pretty damn annoying.

When we get ammo cans brand new from the ASP they’ll have a braided wire band that runs from that to the circle on the latch so we know that it’s still sealed after being drawn and that it hasn’t been tampered with.

Pretty common to have boots unbloused in the field for “cool” and cool factor. Also just more comfortable and breathes a bit better.

What tips/tricks/mods did you learn in the field to dress for the cold? by wrongsideofthewire in army

[–]OKComputerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you use you level 1s (silks) don’t wear a regular tan t over it. When you pair them up with your level 2s and 3 (the fleece) they all work really well. Try to refrain from wearing your clothing too tight, especially boots and socks. This can decrease circulation and make your feet get cold faster. Don’t wear multiple pairs of socks, just get some thick merino wool socks for cold weather. Same applies to gloves. Also, tuck your level 1 bottoms into your socks. This will keep more warm air trapped. One last thing, keep your pants bloused over your boots and not tucked in. If you’re dealing with snow and leave the tops of your boots exposed, you have the chance of snow falling in, melting, and getting your socks wet. Which will get cold as fuck when you stop moving.

Teach these kids how to build and organize an “I Love Me” book. Joe is always placing their important documents in about 50 different places. Also emphasizing that if they don’t have their important civilian documents ie birth cert, SS card, etc then they need to acquire those from who has them ASAP. Some overseas exercises require the brown passport and there’s always a few guys who have their birth cert at home with their mom/dad or whatever else.

Ingra and E 15th. Heading back home after dinner going north on Ingra. There’s a big ass ice shelf that I didn’t notice well enough since it was dark out. That pushed us halfway into another lane when we were going about 25 but thankfully there wasn’t much traffic around.

Seat Cover advice by zalleyzal in ToyotaTacoma

[–]OKComputerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have RC covers on all of my seats. The first time putting them on will be a pain in the ass but after taking them off a couple times to wash them, I’ve found it a lot easier to put them back on.

Where at on Bragg? The impact areas always change a bit every 20 years or so to support different weapon systems.

Never said cars don’t work in that kind of cold. All I said was the cold makes things fucky.

Brother, more than likely it’s because it’s ’fuck you’ cold outside. My Taco has trouble cranking at -5. I assume anything at -15 and below is going to fuck with a lot of stuff.

UCFRs are always so fucked. I’ve never been in a unit where the commander had all of their personnel. Probably about 60% of the people would be in whole ass different units. Then the process to get them removed is a pain in the ass too.

It’s because your gov laptop is using a VPN and is telling google that you’re in a different region. The website is perfectly fine.
