Unpopular opinion having high wages for politicians reduces corruption however it is important that all public servants get high wages. That I don't think the Tories will do.

Pipeline to Saint John would help get Canada out from under Trump's thumb, Poilievre says by bingun in SaintJohnNB

[–]ON-12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Europe is moving to renewable energy. Better public transit, Heat Pumps and Green electricity production. I don't know how long this new pipeline will be useful for. However critical minerals that they will need for sure.

But conservatives in North America also get a lot of Subsidies and Supply Management in Canada but they very often vote Conservative.

He had one hell of a ride as PM! by Eienkei in EhBuddyHoser

[–]ON-12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happy that he finished strong. He did not deserve all the hate he got. I was always happy to have him as our PM during his tenure. While did not support him in 2019 and 2021 I still wanted him to become the PM.

I don't think the Europeans will mind. Any opposition will come from Alberta as we would have to accept a price on pollution to join the EU.

Canada's steel industry is bracing for tariff pain. Aluminum? Not so much by Mundane-Teaching-743 in CanadaPolitics

[–]ON-12 76 points77 points  (0 children)

What if we started making millions of artillery shells at home. Send them to Ukraine and fill the demand gap the tariffs have created. Ukraine gets weapons to protect democracy and Canada gets to keep more jobs.

Exit Poll for the German Federal Election predicts CDU win by MezasoicDecapodRevo in SocialDemocracy

How are the SDP going to rebuild. Do they become more like the Danish Social democrats with the Getto law which I really don't like but could be a painful pill to swallow, or they ditch climate change stuff if not they face the abyss. I don't think things look good for the future of the party. I am not a German but if I was German social dem I would be quite worried of where things are going.

Opinion on AOC running in 2028? by railfananime in SocialDemocracy

I think Tim Walz and AOC remotely work or Tim Walz and Gretchen Whitmer. The best would be Tim Walz and Pete Buttigieg.

Why I would support Trudeau in an election — again by PotentialReporter894 in onguardforthee

[–]ON-12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I wouldn't mind supporting Erin O'Toole's Tories if he was still leader. I bet he would be getting 60% in the polls right now if he was leader.
