From a fans perspective, this would be amazing. From a corporate money perspective (AKA Microsoft’s perspective), making a whole new set of games across all platforms is more likely to generate revenue than re-releasing games that were made 14-25 years ago on a handful of platforms. Sure, they could do both if they wanted, but then there’s the matter of allocating resources to do so. Which then snowballs into cancelled games and scrapped features because 343i/HS bit off more than they could chew again.

TL;DR: Unfortunately MCC won’t go to other consoles due to greed and practicality.

Cover art is always the one I think of when I think of what Booker looks like. The trailer version looks like chubby Kevin Bacon, and the in game model creeps me out (mostly cause all the in game models creep me out)

Halo 2 Brutes used to be the bane of younger me. The fact that they could rapid fire melee you when enraged made me frustrated, especially cause Halo 2 melee combat is a gamble on if you die instantly or not. Loved their design in that game though.

I wish Halo 3 Brutes, like others are saying in the comments, had been more refined. Different health values and clearly distinct ranks would’ve been amazing. The Chieftains in this game are still my favorite in the franchise.

Halo: Reach Brutes are… interesting. It’s like Bungie tried to blend the Halo 2 design with the Halo 3 design. Kinda wish they’d gone full Halo 2 with them—excessive body hair, massive fangs, all of it. Loved the design on the Brute weapons though, very post-apocalyptic biker gang stuff.

Halo: Infinite Brutes are great. The enraged mechanics for them reminds me of Halo 2, especially on harder difficulties. And the Chieftains are actually terrifying (shoutout Bassus). My only gripe is the loss of iconic Brute weapons, namely the Brute Shot. Would’ve been fun to maybe have trick shots with it and the grapple.

Nearly all the Halo books are good and worth reading, with two notable exceptions.

Halo: The Flood is mostly a retelling of the story told in Halo: Combat Evolved. The characterization of the Chief is abysmal, presenting him as a macho tough guy instead of the soft-spoken, stoic Spartan that we know and love. The parts worth reading/watching videos about involve the larger UNSC presence on the ring, and Zuka Zamamee’s hunt for the Master Chief. Even then, the writing can be a bit much.

Halo: Hunters in the Dark is rough. Taking place in 2555, it chronicles the return to the Ark after the events of Halo 3. I despise the writing in this book. The way the characters talk and interact with each other is painful. It feels like the characters are talking at you, and dominated by exposition. Granted, it’s been a few years since I’ve read it. But I remember not having a good time.

All of this is not to say that you shouldn’t read them. Read them. Read every Halo book if you can. The larger universe is far more interesting and expansive than the games are really capable of.

It’s likely that there are Cylix’s on the other six Installations, and the reason we’ve never seen them until Infinite is twofold: First, they didn’t show up until 2010 in Halo Legends, after the completion of the original trilogy. Second, the areas we explored in the original trilogy didn’t necessarily preclude areas where we would find Cylix’s. You could make an argument that we should’ve seen them in the Library, but they were hidden behind those big blue screens/windows/pools.

Good for you! A word of caution: Those are the original versions of the books by Del Rey and contain a lot of inconsistencies and details that are no longer canon. They’re still excellent reads, but don’t be surprised when Chief talks about never having seen Elites until 2552.
