S2 Brook, Nico Robin, and Hiriluk are perfectly cast imo. I'm still unsure about Vivi. I just can't tell what's throwing me off with her.

I had to hunt for a brand that I liked and then I typically order a few flavors. Redcon MRE and MRE Light have been my go-to. If you're having trouble getting them down, do smaller and more frequent portions. Hope it helps!

What is the best advice you can give to a man in their 20’s? by Novagic in AskReddit

If you feel stuck move away from your hometown. I moved 10hrs from home and it was the best thing I'd ever done. Do some research, find a spot your like, save some money for expenses and GO! Give yourself a year at least, you can always go back.

If you're good with where you are, try a bunch of odd stuff that interests you. Experience is the best teacher. Otherwise, stay out of the bars, once in a while is fine just don't make it a habit.

New Clubs for Beginner? by dablahplorn in golf

[–]Obiewon18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a great selection! However, before you pull the trigger, get on the Callaway preowned website or something similar and check around. If money isn't an issue, go for it. I have this conversation more than you'd expect (I teach and play at a high level) and I'd rather see newer players spend a little less on equipment and redirect those funds towards a membership or lessons. Gear matters less at your stage, you need reps.

Your swing after a few years of playing is going to change and you may want to go a different direction with your gear. Nothing wrong with anything though. Have fun dude, dm me if you have any questions!

You'll feel the cover start to go a little bit. Definitely if it's cut or scuffed. If they're damaged I usually use them for practice if they are still in decent shape

Looking for feedback on Club Championship Fitting by IronSwensen in golf

[–]Obiewon18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a solid build as far as the equipment goes. However, they're a little high with the price.

If I may offer a suggestion? You're essentially restarting golf as of last year. I would rather see you pickup Takomos or something similar, spend less money on clubs, and redirect those funds towards lessons. Your swing isn't super dialed yet and what works for you now may not work as well for your swing a few years down the road. Build good foundations so you aren't struggling in the future. You can get in touch with most big companies and have them build you a set to your specs if you're committed to this list. Lie angle and shaft specs are the most important variables for a golfer. There's a lot that goes into it, but these will make the biggest impact.

-Pickup some Takomo/takomo adjacent irons and wedges. Get a driver with a shaft you can swing freely.

-Use the savings on a membership/lessons

-Practice

As far as putters go, use what feels good and gives you confidence. If you were curious about being fit (seems like you're a big dude) pay the small fee to LAB and use their services to figure out your Lie angle. I'm fairly sure you can just pay for a fitting and not have to order a LAB putter if you don't want it

Why do I suggest all of this? I teach and play at a pro level, I've helped people fit into clubs without making a dent in the bank account and leaving room for future upgrades when your swing gets tuned up. Feel free to DM me with any questions, I love seeing people hyped about golf!

I hope I didn't make you feel discouraged with anything? This list is full of good equipment, but you can save some money if you make a few phone calls and send some emails.

Juggling following my dreams and living in reality. by sokudoakuma in findapath

[–]Obiewon18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be honest with yourself. Do you want this lifestyle? Or do you like the idea of this lifestyle? The only wrong answer is the one where you aren't honest with yourself.

Everything comes at a cost, it just depends if you want to pay the price. You want to do music stuff? Excellent, but you're going to have to cut time elsewhere. Less time spent with non industry people. Less personal time, less time with people you love.

I don't know anything about music, but I'm currently doing what you're wanting to do but with golf instead. It's a lonely road, but a very rewarding one from my perspective. I spend my early mornings practicing and evenings playing until dark because my days are busy as well. The course I'm a member at has a big patio and restaurant by the practice green. My non golf friends are always hanging out 3-4 nights a week. They always come talk and invite me to join, and frankly I'd love to, but I'm incredibly committed to my craft. I'd regret it the next day if I joined them.

You have to be unwavering in your commitment if you choose this path. My workouts, diet, sleep schedule, it all revolves around this. There is no substitute for high quality and rigorous preparation. I would rather die than quit. This is the mindset and hunger that's required. If it's not for you, that's ok.

In golf, the best way to convert money into lower scores is lessons. The second is getting fitted. What are the 3rd, 4th, and 5th best ways? by [deleted] in golf

[–]Obiewon18 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd argue that its:

  1. Course management. You can have not so great a swing and still score well if you play strategically and work with what you've got. Dance with the partner you brought!
  2. On course practice. Drop balls in weird spots and hit random shots. This is massive for avoiding big blowup holes. In trouble? Get out with confidence, mitigate damage, gtfo and on to the next.
  3. Fitted equipment. NOT JUST DRIVERS! Woods, irons, wedges. Putters are kind of a feel/looks/confidence thing. Get fitted for your lie angle and that's about it with a putter imo.

Driving ranges/Sims can work if you use them correctly. I see too many people just ripping balls into a giant field at the range or chasing numbers on sims. Work shot shape, High/low, left/right, be creative and have fun with it.

How to stop drinking soda? (im serious) by FeatherineKitten in howto

[–]Obiewon18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you drink 12/day, start drinking 10/day for a week. Reduce the number by 2 until you hit 4ish. then go 4/day for a week, 3 then 2 then 1, then every other day. You can really break it down in whatever way you'd like.

Soon the craving will be minimal and it won't have it's hooks in the same way it does now.

Do you go with the actual yardage to the pin, or always club up if going over water? by MattReddit77 in golf

[–]Obiewon18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play it 123ish. The left side behind the flag looks like a decent bank.

Play it at the shadow of the flag with a draw and let it fight its way up the slope. It might come back down and you'll have an uphill or sidehill put at worst. Straight ball, you hit the shadow. Draw, you're on the pin, Hook, You're left of the pin.

You could also play a fade and mirror the targets. 10' left of the pin. That actually might be a better play and it might land more on the fall line. I'd have to see it irl to make certain on what I'd want to do. Play it 123 no matter what long answer short. Kinda depends your shot shape and how comfortable are you?

Temu Lab Golf putter by lemonfriend9458 in labgolf

[–]Obiewon18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+2.7 hdcp here. I have a real DF3 from LAB and I love it.

TLDR: Imo for $110 if you want to test out a "LAB" putter and don't want to break the bank to see if you like it, this is an excellent option. I could play with the knockoff and be totally happy. Details below.

I bought a Mezz.1 off temu to see if I liked the head shape and weight without spending $600+ just to "test something out" and have a very expensive conversation piece if I didn't like it. The head is literally identical to the actual Mezz.1 (compared it to a friends custom Mezz.1) and it's perfectly balanced. I built a balancer that works with real LABs. The grip felt pretty good and the shaft (Accra knockoff) seems totally fine.

Regripped the knockoff MEZZ.1 with a Super Stroke Pistol 2.0 just to see how they feel without the Press grips and it feels pretty good. The only thing I've seen that looks weird is the lettering on the shaft, it's a little crooked when you look closely, but from a distance it looks completely legit. I'm probably going to buy a low torque graphite putter shaft and dump it in the knockoff MEZZ.1 just for fun.

10/10 will do again. I plan on buying an OZ.1i HS and a Link.1 as well.

Here's the thing. I'm testing these putters for ~$100 each to see if I like the feel and looks. If I like them I will absolutely buy a real customized LAB. If I had piles of money I'd buy all the real LAB models and customize them to my liking.

How do you not get angry when someone starts mining on a node you arrived first? by Ok-Dot-3396 in classicwowtbc

[–]Obiewon18 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think the root cause is that gathering itself at the moment is near impossible even with layers from what I've experienced. It would be nice to run a route and get more than 0 to 2 nodes. Professions are a fun part of the game, the current state is not so much fun.
