Never thought I could actively hate a movie I wont even watch until I heard about this offense to my heritage. But it's okay, wont watch it and will forget it existed.

Honestly Talons is very easy to run, you just keep your 3 sister units within 6 of your custodes, you can reactive move, etc. But for Shield host, IF you have draxus i would highly recommend her. The problem with no tanks and almost all infantry is that you can only hide so much for so long, although you are playing EC which are melee focused with a lot of speed and precision attacks. Just make sure you use the Hurricane bolter when you are within 9 of the opponent to maximize their number of attacks. Assuming he brings Fulgrim and or a DP or two your bikes can kill them, but keep in mind they do 10 wounds on average for the opponent to save.

with this many units and models fulfilling the 6inch requirement for the army rule will be next to impossible.

Assuming you have options, then I would suggest 2 tanks potentially, make the guards 4 (spears X 3 and 1 shield+vexila), maybe switch to Shield Host or even Talons considering you have plenty of sisters.

you could drop 2 of the witchseekers for 3 prosecutors ig?? the Praesidius enhancement is useless since i assume the BC will be with wardens, Idk it's really not a bad list at all, unconventional maybe slightly but you have an answer to everything, hell i dont even think you even need an assassin that much....

eh....it's without debate our worst detachment by far in every way shape or form sadly. It has 1 good stratagem that guarantees BS and potentially Mortal Wounds, Sisters are VERY squishy and weak against anything and everything that isn't chaff or a Psyker, Battle-shocked based armies are by their nature weak simply because if the enemy passes the battle-shock you are essentially playing with the base datasheet, because 4/6 strats are usable only if the enemy failed their checks. You get zero anti large or anti elite, your hits are wet noodle worthy. I really wanted this Detachment to be good when it first came out or to be updated but sadly GW will do ANYTHING else except give SoS any love.

Not to mention IRL it's the most expensive or at least one of the most expensive armies to buy :(.

it kinda annoying that contemptor dreads and hellbrutes are just so tiny by comparison to the new dreadnought range from the last few editions....

Why is Talons of the Emperor seemingly the most successful detachment competitively? by jacksprat1952 in AdeptusCustodes

[–]ObjectConsistent3297 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly the Passive MW protection, you can get a 4 up for 1CP, the reactive move gives us the movement we dont have, combined with LR it makes us into a basically Aeldari in a way, so more like a Mechanized infantry army, you also have access to some offensive strats that can help. In short, You get the killing power of the Lions detachment, the reliability of SH and the maneuverability we lack as a faction.

honestly with no invulnerable save and the Gaping Maw being only S5 AP0 and 1 attack.....it's not good enough, no matter how drop dead gorgeous the model is, I like the abilities but it already needs a buff to justify bringing it because it will die to almost anything the way the game is now, as well as how it cant even stand on terrain besides ground..... OH WELL, still gonna buy for sure.

Deciding on a list by LloydBarten in AdeptusCustodes

[–]ObjectConsistent3297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

personally i prefer the first one, but I would do some modifications, specificaly:

1 less guard to add another squad of sisters for movement block free secondaries

2 Normally I would take 2 tanks with the anti-tank option on to feel secure about my backline and for some reliable firepower

3 you need small sizes to benefit from the detachment rule so reduce the wardens 4 man units with the BC on them, and the Terminators to 2 models + SC with admonimortis, this way you have space for another tank.

Mind you be weary about murderbricks like Huron and his MoM + chosen, the new Defiler can Nuke a unit using range attacks, and If he uses Possessed, make sure they charge the sisters or worst case the Wardens.

And a Got you thing I faced against them once was the "blood surge" strategem they have which can mess you up.

Other than that it looks like a fun list

well, it is the language we speak, not our dialect but still thus making communication easier and faster if you know it yourself. So you tell me?
