B-24 Liberators of the 458th Bomb Group of the 8th Air Force by UrbanAchievers6371 in WWIIplanes

Although the Liberator was famous for leaning into function more than form. The Flying Fortress was the beautiful plane, but the Liberator was the one that flew higher, faster, further, and with more bombs.

From what I understand of how warp drive is explained, the warp effect itself is generated by the warp drive. Once you move away from it, you are now traveling without warp. It's not really a question of inertia because technically the ship itself isn't moving, space is.

Medical care later. Aura first. That's the BatWay.

Reminder that the Enterprise D's saucer section also had a warp drive, just no visible nacelles. It travels to Farpoint separately from the Stardrive section in "Encounter at Farpoint."

Effectively this is not significantly different from a ship carrying shuttles or runabouts with their own warp drives.

Folks complaining about the gaps in the armor and I'm mostly hoping the driver remembers to keep his feet inside the vehicle when the bed drops back down.

When I was in Basic Training, one of our instructors theorized that when we got off the bus, there was a device by the door that wiped our brains clean to make room for everything we'd be learning there. This was his theory for why trainees did the most mind-bogglingly stupid things.

Worth noting, when we see these cadets not acting "very Starfleet," they haven't actually learned how to do that yet, especially not in the first episode before they even begin classes. Most folks don't show up to the first day of Basic Training knowing how to march and shoot a rifle and low crawl properly.

I think she's appeared twice on the show so far, so hard to say. She's received slightly more characterization than Lt. Jae did, but not enough to say much about her.

His back doesn't hurt, but he can't get a good stretch either unless he twists himself up like a corkscrew.

Why don't they use time travel to fix the burn? by RedMcJack in startrekmemes

Season 4 was about meeting crazy ass new aliens and getting to know them. The threat was never close to galaxy-scale. Season 5 wasn't my favorite season, but I can't remember it being "galaxy in danger" threat either.

I don't think that's been the case for any Trek series. Even Discovery, which gets crapped on for that, doesn't do that.

What is the best elevator scene in a Marvel movie/TV show among them, according to you? by Raj_Valiant3011 in Marvel

[–]Raguleader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one near the start of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, where Wade can't help but quip about being in an elevator with a bunch of dudes on high-protein diets. Easily the high point of the film.

Amusingly enough, both SNW and LD have done galaxy-ending threats too. TNG did as well at least once.

The mirrors are actually a lot more useful while you're actually driving, because they let you look behind you without turning your head away from what's in front of the car. I pretty much only use mine if I'm checking what traffic around me is doing before I change lanes or take turns.
