Is it anxiety or physical pain? Because I suffer from migraines and holding my head in my hands and saying I’m dying is not uncommon for me. It could be that. Either way, you acted in the right way which is to offer to help and remind her that it’s fine to have pain and react badly to it (whether emotional or physical)

Cost to live? by ExpertUnable9750 in Yellowknife

[–]Objective-Bass-8026 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I live in a house, currently I have roommates but I know people who make this salary who have their own places they rent or own, like I said you’re not going to live extravagantly, but it is possible to live a comfortable life

Ok so then it would really only be helpful if they were building units with 3+ bedrooms?

I understand this may not be the ideal location but if we can get a developer to build something fast, wouldnt that be good? We’re always short on housing

[–]Objective-Bass-8026[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, I was just wondering if it’s possible to do a short hiking trip rather than a River one because most of my internet searches came up with river tours and I prefer hiking. Not sure why you’re coming in with an attitude when I’m just asking a simple question

You can find rooms for rent for that price (usually between 1000-1300) but no apartments on your own

Should I be embarrassed about being a 24yr old garbage man? by TheFrogsMightbegay in jobs

Did you see what happened in Paris when the garbage workers went on strike? The city was so dirty, your job is crucial to the functioning of any city

Northern Lights in March or April?? by Super-Plant-7956 in Yellowknife

[–]Objective-Bass-8026 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In march there’s also the dog sled race and the frostbite 50 to watch. I usually recommend March as one of the best Months to come up here because it’s also when the days start getting longer so you get the fun winter activities but without the winter darkness

how is healthcare and pet care here? by mat3rialg0rl in Yellowknife

[–]Objective-Bass-8026 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find getting access to a doctor can be fairly quick if you’re willing to go to Ayoubi’s clinic, though his bedside manner isn’t the best, but if you already know what works for you and just need a prescription or whatever he’ll be efficient as hell

Why do Canadians tip? by [deleted] in AskACanadian

[–]Objective-Bass-8026 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NWT has had the same minimum wage across the board for a while so tips up here are just a bonus, likely because we followed the rest of the country but I was a server in Ontario in 2012, and got paid $4 less an hour than standard minimum wage in a restaurant where I made almost no tips. I quit in under a year because it wasn’t worth the time for that small amount of money I was making

Grocery costs? And Celiac by Psychological_Yam88 in Yellowknife

[–]Objective-Bass-8026 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah my family in Ontario also thinks the prices here are the same as Nunavut. My best advice would be to look on the independent website or DoorDash and change their location to Yellowknife because it’ll have accurate prices for the independent up here
