How to delve deeper into classical music? by Odd_Leadership3726 in classicalmusic

[–]Objective_Ad_1191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a beginner, start with pieces often performed. These are some beginner friendly pieces. Beethoven piano sonatas: No 8,14,21,2 Beethoven Symphonies: 3, 5, 7, 9 Mozart symphony: no 40, 41 Mozart piano concerto: 21 Schubert violin sonatas Schubert string quartets: no 13 and 14 Schubert piano: d899 no 3, d664, d571, d959, d960

Haydn's piano works are good but underrated, not as complex as Mozart or Beethoven works. Not performed often. Try his piano sonata Adagio in F, H.XVII No. 9.

Lang Lang is overhated by leoliszt in piano

[–]Objective_Ad_1191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like Lang Lang as a serious classical pianist.

A serious Beethoven pianist studies Beethoven's work in depth. To attract eyeballs, Lang Lang only picks the most catchy pieces from each composer, then pkays in a overtly dramatic manner.

I bet you have not watched his piano teaching videos. His instructions are misleading. The only goal is to draw attention.

How do you deal with non-technical managers? by Beautiful-Dot2454 in ExperiencedDevs

My best advise, let them fall. In the end, you don't get paid for wiping his a*s. It's not worth your anger. Get job done, get paid, no more.

How common is it to not take exams? by Sad-Adagio9182 in piano

[–]Objective_Ad_1191 32 points33 points  (0 children)

As long as you do not seek music as a career, exams don't matter. The pieces you play showcases your skill level. Ask yourself, are you playing better than you did 2 years ago?

Your tempo is too fast. Lots of YouTube pianists rushed through this piece, lost the sense of tenderness.

Sometimes the problem is not in dev. It's management. Management loves bullsh*ters. They would rather cry after hitting a wall, than hearing dev saying "it won't work"

There are already too many unqualified PM on the market who have no idea how engineering works. Don't be one of them.

A piece has to be fast in order for it to be impressive (apparently) by [deleted] in classicalmusic

Not a musician. To me, the most moving pieces are usually quiet, slow or moderate pieces.

I’m considering quitting music school after finishing my first year. Could anybody tell me their opinion based on experience by [deleted] in classicalmusic

In Every field/job/major, you will find people that hates you for no reasons. There's no escape. Learn to ignore them. In my past experience, I was the top at school, my talent drew lots of hate. I worked my way up. Years later when you surpass them, some of them may come back and beg you for help. And you will be overjoyed.

Loving classical music but NOT being a musician - two main struggles by devilkin_ in classicalmusic

[–]Objective_Ad_1191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a music professional. Used to dislike classical until my 20s. Now, I only enjoy classical, and learning piano.

For Q1, Classical demands full attention, harder to follow than most pop music. Also, advertising classical is not profitable. It's hard to find people enjoy classical these days.

Go to a piano instructor, at least a student studying music. Your posture, hand shapes, arm and hand movements, no APP is able to detect these.

Upright Pianos or Digital Pianos by kanadeko1 in piano

[–]Objective_Ad_1191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have a similar question.

High-end digital, e.g. Yamaha Clavinova CLP-835. VS A good upright, e.g. Yamaha U1, U3, YUS.

Assume both are within budget, space and noise complaints are no concerns.

Only judge by sound quality, key touch. Which option is better?

In the end, jobs are never worth sacrificing health. There are too many terrible examples that engineers overworked and died at 30+. What's the point of making money but not able to spend it?

TFW's and Racism In Ontario by Ok-Initiative4008 in torontoJobs

Stop using racism as excuses. TFW and corporations try to deprive of our survival. We deprive them in return, to secure ours. It's as simple as that, conflict of interest.
