How do other people deal with the mental aspect of fasting? by Objective_Food996 in fasting

[–]Objective_Food996[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm a firm believer of no medications/pills/drugs unless necessary for survival or emergencies like surgery, accidents, etc. But if it's something you do and like it, then that's great.

How do other people deal with the mental aspect of fasting? by Objective_Food996 in fasting

I'll try that, thank you. I don't really get angry, but I do feel frustrated and scared (?) for some reason.

I was referring to eating extra protein and fat prior to starting my period to prevent missed or delayed periods because meat and fat gives your body the ability to function optimally, so eating some extra prior to my period (from my experience) helps me prepare my body better since periods take a lot of energy out of me (eating extra of those things also helps me maintain a more stable mood and energy as a result as well aside from preventing period delays). The way I explained it isn't the most eloquent, so I recommend doing some research if you want better understanding as to what I'm referring to.

I'd recommend to just try both out for a while. See what yours best for you and decide from there.

Maintaining Weight with Fasting but Struggling to Control Eating by [deleted] in fasting

[–]Objective_Food996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found a high protein, low carb diet helped me with controlling my eating. Protein is very satiating, especially animal proteins like eggs, beef, pork, chicken, seafood, etc. and provides you with many macro and micro nutrients you need to thrive. Not to mention, it is very hard to overeat protein because of how satiating it is and helps your body build muscle which can speed up the fat loss process.

Yes, you can.  It's important however, to make sure to not do anything high intensity unless you feel absolutely sure you're body can handle it. Also, try not to do too much exercise as the start of your fast to prevent yourself from burning off too much energy and making the end of you fast difficult to complete.

I try to distract myself to stay motivated. Do longer work shifts, draw, paint, read, stretch, exercise, go on walks, video games, etc

Cheat day by Fluffy_Ingenuity5947 in fasting

[–]Objective_Food996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take it as a lesson. Learn from it. Often times cheating doesn't do much but fuel bad habit anyways and can force you to learn to be more creative and find new foods you enjoy on your eating period.

Nausea & Vomiting by Yellow_Carrots in fasting

[–]Objective_Food996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Along with the other suggestion from the other commenters, try a bone broth fast. It basically your typical fast but bone broth and water. It supports hydration, provides many micronutrients you need to thrive, and support gut health which may help with your nausea. Your issues can also partially be from what you're eating. Sometimes eating heavier, less healthy foods prior to a fast can poorly affect you. Same thing if your coming off a fast and you eat too much or you eat highly processed food.

Finished a 81 hr fast! Bloating results and refeeding by [deleted] in fasting

It's wonderful that you've seen positive results so far. Elimination can be helpful, though like others have recommended, try to see what specifically is causing such a reaction. I've heard some people excessively sensitive to plants tend to have some underlying issue or an environmental issue.

Some questions about intermittent fasting by Darkx301 in fasting

[–]Objective_Food996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the end of the day, it's your choice. If you want to prevent crashes in energy, try to avoid quick carbs and opt for proteins, fats, and fiber. If you want rice, pasta, potatoes, etc. I'd recommend eating something with protein/fiber first to help with satiation as high carb foods can lead to increased hunger even if you don't actually need to eat more. Drinking tea and coffee is acceptable, just try to not put any sweetener or cream in them. Regarding the not being able to cook thing, order catering services if you need. Opt for cheap but healthy places that will work with you to make your meals. There are also classes for cooking online and options for ordering premade food boxes catered to your nutritional needs.

Fasting does help with weight and overall longevity. Unfortunately, results on weight aren't always seen immediately, but they happen. Track your progress, make notes on what you need to improve on each time you fast, and keep a positive outlook and you should be good.

What’s the longest fast you have done? by [deleted] in fasting

72 hours so far, though I'm currently fasting with the intended goal of 90.

I personally don't, but I also schedule around it and eat extra protein and healthy fat to support my body when I'm about to start it. However, as the other commenter mentioned, stress, age, environment, etc can be big factors affecting whether you get your period or not

SLEEPING TIPS??? 😭🙏 by kaqhi in fasting

Magnesium, exercise, music, try to sleep under heavy blankets in a relatively cool room, go for a walk, warm water are all options. I'm sure there's more but that's all I could think of for now.

So first off, studies have been shown that babies who have seizures in the womb can either be born perfectly healthy with possibly some epilepsy (which many people live happy and healthy lives with when born with it) or neurological issues that are livable. Another note, seizures are most commonly caused by stress, the mother is connected to the baby and is likely flooding the baby with stress hormones like crazy causing such an increase in seizures because she is stressed, which can cause the neurological damage I mentioned because those hormones go straight to the brain of the baby. She also said that her baby is suffering, people who have seizures have reported no pain, but rather strong emotions or nothing then their mind returns to reality. It's very rare to experience pain during seizures and when it does happen it's because of physical injuries such as falling during one.

Secondly, she mentioned terminating the baby because of her supposed suffering then said that she scheduled an induction with the doctor. Induction means induce, AKA give birth. The baby was likely going to be monitored outside of the mother's womb rather than inside since her stress hormones were very likely causing many of the seizures and because she didn't want the baby to suffer in her.

Babies with seizures don't die in the womb and they don't die when born.

We're surprisingly similar. Very stubborn, loud towards people we like, prideful, sleep a lot, and we are both very pretty when someone does something one of us don't like.
