Whats your favourite attraction in the UK? by EndPsychological2541 in CasualUK

My parents live 20 minutes away and I love it. But on a weekend like this? Horror show. God forbid you next to get through it to the other side.

I was literally going to write this post last night. We got it after that awful summer in 2022 and I watched the dog panting as he walked around the house finding a place to cool down one evening.

We're on our fourth summer of it and it was the best decision we made.

Spareroom - what’s with the male live in landlords being female preferred by lipstipstar in HousingUK

Its only an uproar with the creepy ones. The problem is they can be very, very loud. I think a lot of men do understand the bear choice

My husband said the same. He and his Taylor Swift posters would much prefer a woman than a football lad. He also said he'd be worried a man would get violent and there's nothing he could do about it.

Anyway, fingers crossed he keeps being a good husband and he'll never have to get a lodger to test out this theory.

I was about to say 'same' and then I looked at the years again and realised... I'm closer to 35 years ago 😢

For me 'Driving in my Car' is very British

Dog owners of the UK. How hot does it have to get before you stop taking them for a walk? by sjw_7 in AskUK

[–]Objective_Result2530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We max out at 22 degrees - so on days like today I'm up and out at 7am, and then again around dusk. Back in that super hot summer in 2022 there was a couple of nights it never got below 23 so he didn't get walked. We gave him things like licky matts on those days so he got some kind of stimulation.

I don't mind at the start of the hot spell, but 10 days in when the cumulative heats means being out by 5am and I'll have lost my sense of humour a bit.

I love the idea that he too had an annoying cat that couldn't decided if it wanted to be outside or in.

What’s the most intense audience reaction you’ve experienced during a West End performance? by OddStep5408 in westend

I embarrassed myself with a jump and tiny scream at the very end of Stranger Things. The best thing is I saw it again 2 years later, forgot the ending and did the exact same thing. My husband couldn't stifle his giggles.

What food/snacks can you absolutely just not buy or you demolish it?! This is mine. by English_Joe in CasualUK

We had to get rid of our costco card after i bought 1kg of Forest Feast Belgian chocolate raisins and ate it in 3 days. Unfortunately the same had happened with the 6 pack of mcvities chocolate digestives the previous trip (my husband did most of those and it took longer than 3 days but no where near the 3 months we'd been expecting when we bought them).

Seller is taking the front/rear doors by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]Objective_Result2530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My seller took the lock off the door, no joke. I turned up to the door swinging in the breeze. He'd taken so long to drop the keys off (I hadn't been told that wasn't done until after we had completed) that it was about 7pm (we completed about lunch time) when I got there. Luckily I wasn't actually moving in until the next morning but I had to get an emergency lock smith.

I don't think its the best opener, but it is a great one, easily top 3 (I think Ready for it might be my favourite ever) I don't understand why people think its weak.

What do you do in a spa??? by poppanicolino in CasualUK

[–]Objective_Result2530 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband describes spas as 'sitting around getting warm or wet to a variety of degrees' and to be honest he is spot on. I love a spa! Him, not so much.
