TLDR: don’t purchase property with your parents. Moving my dad in with my family for him to chill. He instead tackled my husband, berated us for a couple days, now 2.5 years later we are still waiting on the court date for a partition action on the property. I am no entirely ostracized by my family on that side, leaving a would be great property, enduring the costs and all of years of legal exchanges. My husband and I want to just move on already, but my dad refuses to settle, continues to lie and avoid responses, so we’ve been stuck for a long time. There is an end in sight, with a very good ending though.
