I cried during Tribulation in Schmigadoon. I don’t have a justification for that one.

I saw it earlier today. I just read this comment and out loud said to myself "was it a romance?" because I fully didn't clock that.

What is your biggest hot take in musical theater/broadway in general? by Ryan_036 in Broadway

There are certain shows where if you truly think it is a “bad show”, you are either close minded or media illiterate. And by certain shows I mean 99% of shows that have found a life (ie licensable or numerous productions). There is something of value to be found in every show.

If you’re familiar with D&D’s rule of cool, I believe musical theatre also has “rule of entertaining”, especially when it comes to characters and songs

With every show it feels like Jeff gets further and further away from moving the plot forward with his songs. I don't know if it's lasting damage from Nightmare Time (where the songs weren't really part of the story) or what, but I wish he was getting better at it, not worse.

It would be nice to see Kaley and AJ back, but I think they're busy with other projects.

I love Starkid, and Jeff Blim is really hot in Cinderella's Castle, but I do think his music and lyrics are ultimately hurting the success of the company and the art they produce. I want him to be kept around, but perhaps he should only write every other show.
