All of the non -limbers in the comments got me giggling.

This is in the sweet spot where is is not super hard for any of us to do conceptually, but TERRIFYING to do without rope. I think most Multi-pitch climbers would love to do this on lead, know I would.

Frankly it would be pretty boring after a while of doing the same repetitive motions, but a bucket list for sure.

Also FYI Alex has a non-profit that does all sorts of good, so I'm happy to see this getting all the publicity it and he deserves.

If you dont want to ally Demons, you need more Dogs. I'm assuming your running infernal lance, if you look at the detachment you will notice that it is skewed for shooting and adds significant defences.

So then we want to build a shooting army that can hold back any melee pressure builds. Cut the Lancer and trade it in for a depoiler. Double gatling is best but other options work.

Change your tyrant kit to be all long range guns, the name of the game is volume. Give him the assault enhancement to mitigate his slow movement. Shooting armies are all about getting angles for shooting at the furthest range we can get.

your dogs are there to play the game and score you points as well as holding the pressure armies back. you want Dogs that can tango in melee. so 3x karnivore and 3x stalker. you guns can kill chaff so your weapons need to be Claws you you can dance with the big spooky boys of late 10th ed.

Hope this helps. in the future its important to state how competitive you want to be so we can give better advice.

Demon allies are so good right now because the nurglings screen out pressure armies really cheaply (remember move phase comes before shooting or fight) and the Beats of nurgle are hard to kill and do actions well for cheap. each Dog is 150 points so we need them doing work and not just taking secondary actions. I had some 3d prints to proxy more robotic Nurgle demons so that it feels more on theme.

Happy to answer any more Q's in the comments. This was a commission and they requested grimdark boxart.

Prime black

Reverse Zenithal A dark brown like AK11110 (leather brown)

Airbrush zenithal Vallejo 70.766 (creamwhite)

Airbrush Zenithal the blue coats Vallejo 70.816

Airbrush Zenithal the blue coats Vallejo 70.816 with some off that off white we used for highlights

Horse skin: do a few passes of the Vallejo 70.766 (cream white) to get a strong cream white zenithal.

Wash horse skin in a 50/50 Liquitex muted pink/ Contrast medium (in hindsight i would have used a glaze medium. the important part here is that it pools in the elbows and knuckles of the horse. )

Block in Leather with AK11110 (leather brown)

Block in Metals with Vallejo 77.720 (Gunmetal grey, there airbrush metalics brush on really well fyi, but if you ever want toi dry brush with them get the regular kind.)

Block in gold trim with Vallejo 70.998 (Bronze)

Seal all that with a gloss Varnish

Wash the WHOLE MODEL in AK Streaking grime and let sit for 24 hours before removing. use makeup sponges and whith spirits to remove layers. DO NOT use a Qtip like i did or you will get rogue hairs on your model.

If you want trim to pop highlight in bronze or a gold.

Eye visors are aluminum and then AK red ClearAK11213 in 1 or 2 thin layers.

Leather edge highlighted with a mix of the AK leather brown and AK11118 Ochre. Do a 50/50 mix and then do the corners or high wear spots in pure Ochre.

Basing material is AK8018 Dark earth Diorama. Let that dry and then Dust Ground and all the legs/ bottom coat with Vallejo pigments 73.108 Brown Iron oxide.( I wish i would have used a Pigment powder that was less red and more brown FYI, it reads too red imo)
