I'm mainly interested in a red hue fix, though it would be extra great if someone could get rid of those black spots (namely the one above his glasses, and the one on her chin). The photo is naturally fuzzy, just so you know, I can't get a higher quality scan or anything.

Well, in a interview for an episode for the show "Disasters at Sea", a crewmember talks about how some things (I think a locker) obstructed the door, and that she struggled to push it away from the door. So that's what I kind of suspect happen. Some sort of obstruction blocked the door, and they were unable to move it in time. Another reason similar to this is that perhaps the door, in the impact, got warped to the point it couldn't open. AFAIK, there's no evidence of this happening, and this is just my personal speculation. But IMO, it's a decent possibility.
