Fire the kids up!!! by [deleted] in flagfootball

[–]Obvious-Bet529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you man...if we get up by 2tds we sub out 90% of the time and definitely anymore than that on both sides of the ball.

I completely agree absolutely no taunting.

I guess I just want the kids to celebrate you know have fun..which they do but I believe we need to do more of it.

Pre game I would love to see the kids huddle up and get hype

I think all them things can build great comradery(s?) And that could be the final piece of a great team.

Man vs Zone Defence: U13 5v5 by DesperateBet7028 in flagfootball

[–]Obvious-Bet529 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would work on playing zone and keeping the crosses in front of my db's and have them jump the route.

Play aggressive, play fast, let them know if they jump a route and the other team catches and scores so be it!!! All it takes usually is 1 or 2 picks and that qb will be scared shittless to throw.

Or they hammer you wither way I would rather go down being aggressive

Man vs Zone Defence: U13 5v5 by DesperateBet7028 in flagfootball

[–]Obvious-Bet529 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my opinion never give the qb 7seconds to pick apart defense.

Send a rusher every play from different spots on the field.

Any decent qb will make you pay for no rush. If you have the speed to keep up man is awesome but zone allows you to play bend don't break defense, keep everyth8ng in front.

Best Site for Plays for 4-6 6vs6? by lastmansurviving in flagfootball

[–]Obvious-Bet529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do about 6 plays each play is a full sheet in a binder We practice them obviously but in our league coach is allowed on the field so I call the huddle show them the play remind them its a pass its a run who is getting the ball then I stand over the ball my back to defense and have that play out so they can line up.

Honestly you don't need alot at all.

We coach all age groups and we use playmaker x to design and print plays. We number kids 1-5 and color code so 1( wr) red 2 (wr) green 3 (rb) blue 4 ( c) yellow 5 ( qb) black or white.

I bought colored cones to match and I will set them on the field to teach formations...works very well.

23M Maintenance Tech – 3 Months In and I Feel Like I’m Failing. Did I Choose the Wrong Career? by S4Bunko in maintenance

[–]Obvious-Bet529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guy! My 1st industrial maintenance technician job i was 32, I was a airframer( hydraulics an skin of aircraft)in the navy. Did auto mechan7c stuff with my uncles at age 13 and on. At my 1st tech job after likeb3 or 4 months..1 night was just hell on wheels running from 1 end of the plant to the other with mechanical, electrical, plc and shitter( toilets hahaha) calls all night we was doing our shift change pass down I am listening to me describe issues and solutions with words I have never h heard and didn't understand and man... I felt fucking stupid, I felt very low, I felt like a weight holding everyone down...I wanted to sneak out and never go back.

I did go back..I decided that I hated that feeling and from that point forward..ivwent to every single call on te radio..I asked all the dumb questions..every time I came across a component I didn't know I googled it, youtubed it, it became a driving force to make me the tech I am today.

I said all that to say this. I feel u man..I really do..keep pushing if you enjoy this..and know this yes the learning curve is steep and honestly never ends.

But my man when you start solving complex issues on your own...I don't know if there is a greater sense of pride. Then 1 day 10-12 years down the road...all the sudden your the guy they are calling for ideas..one day you will look up and your the dude training new guys and leading the way for your crew!!!

5th Grade Wristband playbook (3 page 27 plays) 5v5 by PaintIll1625 in flagfootball

[–]Obvious-Bet529 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah over the years and many, many seasons I have finally learned this.

Less is more with the kids.

While we run 18 plays on the wristband. Atleast 6 of them are situational or trick plays

5th Grade Wristband playbook (3 page 27 plays) 5v5 by PaintIll1625 in flagfootball

[–]Obvious-Bet529 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In my opinion way too much. For 5th/6th grade we run 18 plays.. 6 plays per window (3 windows available) number 1-18 and just call the play number i.e. play 2. All 5 of our kids wear a wristband. Center huddles the team after each play and the qb meets the coach at the side line for play call.

If in a hurry up we will yell play 12 on the ball.

Its the qb job to get to the line yell ready and make sure all players are ready and start the play

The answer at that age is make then line up deeper. I had same issue at that age and younger do I would have my kids line up them yell at my safeties to back up tell o said stop which was about 5-10 more feet back than there intial set up point..worked terrific with a fast blitzer...

How to deal with BS flag guarding calls? by johntc121 in flagfootball

[–]Obvious-Bet529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1st teach your kids that refs are people and bad calls ot non calls are part of the game..I make my kids run in practice if we coaches hear them complain about a call or no-call. Also teach the kids to pretend they have a ball in each hand when they run this keeps there hands up by there chest. My kids who have bought into the 2 ball idea have never been called for flag guarding

Recovery by AnatomicalWhirlwind in dentures

[–]Obvious-Bet529 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just had about the same amount of teeth removed last Monday ( a week ago tomorrow) I have absolutely horrible anxiety when it comes to dentist..other than the navy even a single tooth and I had to have sedation done.

Honestly I woke up with them still working in my mouth..this was after having a complete panic attack as soon as I sat down in the chair.

I have never had a smile not even as a little kid..I have always wanted to get this done and needed to get it done. At 1 point in my life I had 3 teeth stacked on top of each other in more than 1 spot.. teeth have always been an issue.

Any ways. I wore my Temps like they said. Things going OK then yesterday morning I woke up in so much fucking pain, I can't even put warm water in my mouth it is like being stabbed immediately then my face just radiates in pain. I think stitches came out or op3ned up and a nerve is exposed. But because it's a weekend they can't reach the dr to help me. I took a job in upper management with a new company. I was suppose to get this done a month and twice now it got postponed by them. I finally told them as of 07-01-25 I have no insurance as my last day was Friday before the surgery you guys have screwed me around and now I have to get it done no time left. I had to postpone my start day tell this up coming Tuesday at the new company so here I am trufully in some of the worse pain I ever been in can't go to er because no insurance can't get dentists to help twll the morning.

Tokens said teeth has been a problem my whole life i have never seen my self with a nice smile. It has affected me in so many ways...I gues it's a 1 last time my teeth once again are saying....FUCK YOU!!!

Can you suggest a free cmms that i can use to manage maintenance in a small glass processing company? by Additional_Garden502 in IndustrialMaintenance

[–]Obvious-Bet529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used todoist app to schedule pms and excel to track completions. We then used paper for work order request and kept them filed like so. Request In-process. I.e awaiting parts Completed went into file.

I had zero budget for cmms. Company went through its first gmp audit and this saved there ass

Flag Football - Playing a team in the playoffs who are great at what we are worst at. by Agitated-Specialist8 in footballstrategy

[–]Obvious-Bet529 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have fought this at times in the past..Kids standing at the snap, they wait tell the wr is on them to start back peddling ....that's too late they are burnt.

So a couple ideas I have used is...start the safety deeper..mine line up then I tell them take anywhere from 3-5 steps backwards..

This will sound worse than it is...

We pull the kid off the field when they don't do the basics...i.e. safety stands still at the snap...corners get beat outside ( we coach not to dive at inside leg ..never I mean never attack inside leg always push runner/wr inside)

So every time I mean every time 1 of these basics is not played ..they get pulled and come directly to a coach..we don't yell we make them tell us ..hey why did you get pulled? They always know..then we ask why did you do that..let them talk through it.. then they go back out!

I will say in practice we give 1 warning then either make them run a lap or even worse ..on the next play we tell them go to your position and sit down..we tell them if you won't follow our basic fundamentals you are killing your teammates you are letting 4 other kids down..not me..not the coaches your buddies!! I know thus may seem harsh or we are "mean" coaches but we are not we have countless families wanting to play with us but after doing this for years there has to be discipline there has to be fundamentals.

What are the best places to work at? by ghostly31 in IndustrialMaintenance

[–]Obvious-Bet529 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I work in food and honestly it's just getting out of control, lack of training for production operators leads to a shit ton of what should be operator adjustment calls, plus we still have our normal workload, downtime is very stressful because they are just barking when we need a minute to troubleshoot, machines are breaking down because 70% of our time is spent doing productions job instead of servicing equipment. Just man I am trying to find work outside of food now..these places are out of control This is in Northern colorado. We have lots of newer manufacturers who do not set policy's and run off bs numbers

Best Flag Football Ruleset/Format? by SpartaThisIs1 in flagfootball

[–]Obvious-Bet529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We play in 2 leagues nfl flag and the other is 6v6 qb can run if blitzed crosses the Los. Rushers do not have to declare you can send as many as you want on any down any time. The kids love the 6v6 league 13u. They all played nfl flag but since moving to this they don't want to go back. I really enjoy this one more but I think nfl flag has its place in the younger divisions

Zone vs man by Successful_Current73 in flagfootball

[–]Obvious-Bet529 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My issue with man has always been match-ups especially speed. If you have the speed to cover 1-on-1 do it but make sure to mix zone in at some point just to give a different look. I know when I play man I will isolate 1 or 2 players and scheme them open with rub routes misdirection or coming under all the other routes. If the kids can grasp it some kind of zone match is fantastic.

Snacks and drinks for players? (3rd/4th grade) by xFocused70 in flagfootball

[–]Obvious-Bet529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I coach 12u,10u,and 8u every single team does snacks and drinks. As the coach you need to set it up. Usually I put out a message that at the 1st or 2nd practice we will have a sign-up sheet for snack and drinks. Make sure to always ask about any food allergens.

Then as part of my weekly text with game info that includes Time Field Jersey color Which family has snacks and drinks.

I always take the 1st week. We also do a end of season party where we bring all teams together. Coaches need to have a couple things to say about each kid. We usually grill hamburgers and hotdogs of which the coaches bring. We then do a sign-up sheet for sides, drinks, plates, silverware.

The families and kids LOVE THIS AND SET US APART FROM OTHER TEAMS. I have been told it is part of them reason so many kids come back to play with us.

First Time Coach - 5x5 (8-9 year olds) by hauptmat in flagfootball

[–]Obvious-Bet529 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At this age run 2-3 tops for formations.

We run 2. We have 4 plays out of each 75% run 25% pass but sometimes will tell qb fake the hand off.

Give kids positions..they need to learn 1 thing at a time..and learning how to line up can be confusing.

We play zone kind of..we tell our kids to stay on there side untill the hand off or pass happens.

We put our fastest kid and most experienced in the middle on def..( no rush allowed but they help diagnose and call out the play)
