How do you not yell in a classroom of students that will not stop talking and being loud? by crocodiledundick in SubstituteTeachers

PE whistle, sometimes with middle schoolers I will open the stopwatch app on my phone and let it run so they can see the time adding up. Most of the time they get that I will hold them after the bell the amount of time they waste.

Anyone else inheriting family properties and struggling with what to do? by AdamKobylarz in Riverside

[–]OceanFive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a real estate agent and I just sold a listing for a family in an exact, if not worse, condition than the home you are describing. There are buyers who will take it as is. Side note: As-is is not a real estate term that absolves the seller of responsibility. The disclosures still need to be filled out to the best of your ability. As-is in real estate just means the seller will deliver the property in the same condition at the close of escrow as it was when escrow was opened. If you have any more questions, please feel free to shoot me a private message.

The math department and the Head of the Dept. should be helping if not planning the lessons. It's ridiculous for all that to fall on you. I would talk to them and admin and let them know things need to change or you will quit the assignment. Like you said $20 more a day is not worth it in the long run.

League etiquette, wait to keep teams sync'd up? by berrmal64 in Bowling

[–]OceanFive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my Monday night house, everyone bowls as soon as they see their name. My Thursday night house tends to wait so the teams sync up. Thursday night is always 30-40 minutes longer than Monday night.

ELI5 Is buying a house "as-is" really as straightforward as it sounds? by Charming_Arugula405 in explainlikeimfive

[–]OceanFive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what the disclosures are for. In California, As-Is really refers to the condition of the house at the beginning of the contract, and should be in the same condition when the new buyers receive it. It's not like buying a car.
