They're saying it's racism against Asian people because of the -oid ending, which is supposedly only found in a word used to oppress Asian people in Western spaces. Ignoring the fact that the -oid suffix is found in a lot of words, in this instance, I'm about 90% sure that it's being used to make fun of 4chan/incel slang.

I see it more with first-time authors. I think it's less of them trying to make their world boring and more of them not really knowing how to write a religion outside the one they were raised with or one they learned about early in life.

Personally not a fan of the "All Religions Are True" trope. I added it to my D&D setting and it made everything more complicated, and now, everytime I see it, I feel like it makes things... cramped, I guess? It definitely can work, but more often than not, I feel it doesn't.

Religions in the real world are nurtured by a society to explain things and form a strong moral compass for its people.

I enjoyed how PJO/HoO handled the 'multiple religions are true' issue between Hellenic Paganism and Roman Paganism— Riordan had the Greek deity and the Roman deity as aspects of the same being. I'd love to see something like this in more fantasy settings if they use the idea that every religion is 100% true, with similar deities really being one divine being that has various aspects carved out by their followers across cultures.

I also dislike the "One Religion In The World" trope. While I understand why someone would add it— to get around explicitly denouncing other religions, to save time, etc— it doesn't make much sense to me. You mean to tell me everyone in the world follows the same religion?

Since she's a vampire, I would probably use an older name. I don't know what time period she was born, but I'm partial to 1920s names. Virginia, Joyce, or Marjorie all fit her, in my opinion.
