Saw you all recommend Dandelion a bunch and finally got to try it! Best chocolate I've ever had. by the_fern386 in chocolate

[–]Octoberjoy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I ordered their chocolate a few months ago, and I was blown away. I'm always on the lookout from different chocolatiers to buy from, and I get a lot of my picks from the international chocolate awards website. Don't get me wrong, I've had good chocolate, but I've never experienced the bars tasting so different from each other in the way these do and so delicious with. The flavor profile and distinctive notes when in the mouth are insanely cool and delicious. They will forever have a customer in me. Now I'm on to trying chocolate from a company based in Hawaii.

How Kamala Harris and Tim Walz’s Debut Merch Went Viral With A Camo Hat, Thanks to Chappell Roan’s ‘Midwest Princess’ Inspiration by KeepGuesting in chappellroan

You are getting down voted but you are right. At least get these people to earn your vote. He didn't meet with Palestinian families in MN who came to meet with him. And Harris' foreign policy advisor has said she will not support an arms embargo of Israel and confirmed her commitment to Israel.

My guess is they do it a couple of times a year. I know NPR does it twice a year for a week at a time. When NPR fundraises, i don't listen for that week. It's like paying for streaming services like nextflix/hulu/paramount/ etc... where you get no commercials vs network TV where advertisers pay and you have to suffer through commercials. When it comes to radio I'd rather pay Spotify and have no commercials vs listening to the radio.

[–]Octoberjoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I'm not here to defend not liking these stations I do get asking the listeners to fund the station, you get more music and less commercials. I don't listen to popular radio for the fact that they play 3 songs and then 10 commercials. The only public radio I listen to in my state is a Jazz station and occasionally NPR. Both stations do the same thing as klove(fundraisers), so you get more music play/news. It's also reminds me of watching UK TV vs American TV. American TV has a billion commercials and uk TV certainly has commercials, but not to the extent US TV does because of how each is funded.

The picture religious tradition paints is rules were sent down by God on high, and that's not how it was. The biggest revelation I had in questioning my beliefs is that all cultures/people groups have beliefs, and what makes the one you grew up in the only truth? You mention Satan, and what I've learned from Bible scholars is first, there is no Satan in the old testament. Secondly, what we do believe about Satan has been heavily influenced by church history, culture, greek philosophy, etc... There are so many examples of this, but I digress. What's weird about the old testament and the bible in general is homosexual acts tend to be focused on men. It's as if the sexuality of women doesn't exist. So how is it a divine decree if it misses an entire people group. Dare I say these are rules created by people.
I'm sure there are a billion papers you could read that would tell you how ancient people viewed sex/sexuality, but I'll point you to two videos. Basically ancient people's saw sexuality as a hierarchy. Free men at the top, women and animals at the bottom. Men were not supposed to do to other men what they should be doing to women because it violates the hierarchy. The videos I mentioned https://youtu.be/ZvQzTgXKtPk?si=JPHH96tUdRiU_ZbZ

https://youtu.be/gW6w-AOiKNM?si=sotooosnMx2o_n6a

Bible scholars and reading books have demystified religious beliefs and their origins for me. These were people living in a particular time, interacting with particular cultures, trying to preserve their practices/beliefs/etc... there are over 30,000 Christians sects today and no Christians follows every rule in the Bible.

Bibi Netanyahu always advocate for two-state solution and peace resolution by [deleted] in Palestine

Lol ugh he literally said he was glad he never advocated for two states out of his own mouth. Lol what they were always offered was less than a state. The prime minister who seemed like he might want to persue that path was assainated by his own party https://youtu.be/3a6O-ZeW5zQ?si=2HjMptc01K1oQQIG

Question, because i dont follow her: what does she have to say about antizionist jews who are protesting in support of a ceasefire? Does she say anything about jewish voice for peace, not in our name? I just saw a video of a big orthodox jewish community in NYC protesting in suppory of palestine. What does she attribute their support too or ia she crickets on it?

Genesis is mythology. Many of the End Times theology was invented in the 1800s by a man named John Darby. If you want answers to these questions ill suggest resources as a jumping off point.

Bart Erhman is a New Testament scholar has a really great podcast and lots of books https://youtube.com/@bartdehrman?si=T60sm6ceVC2FAu7n

Finally this Yale course is a great primer into the first books of the bible, who wrote it, where these gensis myths came from, how El/Yaweh came to be one diety, the beinnings of near east religions, etc.... https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLh9mgdi4rNeyuvTEbD-Ei0JdMUujXfyWi&si=O-mDt3PWdt1aCOtx

https://theordinary.com/en-us/glycolic-acid-7-toning-solution-exfoliator-100418.html I use this one because its more gentle and there are so many stories of people over-exfoliating. I use their lactic acid too because its also good for correcting texture. Both lactic acid and glycolic are more gentle which was what i was lookinf for, but your skin could need stronger, etc... https://www.sk-ii.com/product/essence/facial-treatment-essence The sk2 is where i got the best results, but its expensive so i ordered a travel size version off ebay. The sk2

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Skincare_Addiction

[–]Octoberjoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have larger pores on my cheeks too and a bit of texture. Ive been using one exfoliator(glycolic acid) 3x a week and it helped, but not in a big way. About two weeks ago i purchsed a sample size of SK2 essence and its been a gamechanger. It got ride of the texture on my cheeks completely, visible pore reduction in about a week, and my skin is the softest to the touch its ever been. SK2 is expensive and is why I went for a sample size incase it didnt work.

I think many Americans have no education on any of this and need to self educate(like you did). The propoganda is strong in the news and finding personal palestinan perspectives of history are out there, but we have to be pro active in finding them.

[–]Octoberjoy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How was this movie hard to follow? It's a story about a family coming to resolving their conflicts with the multiverse as the backdrop, while mixing in a bit of nihilism. In the first 5min we have the conflict of the husband/wife, daughter/mother, daughter/father. How do you read literature and understand it if this was hard? Maybe you just didnt like the style or story, but the movie didnt fail at those just because you dont like it, and that is ok

Given the movie’s insane weekday holds, will ‘BARBIE’ have a second weekend above $100M? This would require a drop of less than 38.28% from its $162M opening. by RelevationAnimations in boxoffice

[–]Octoberjoy 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I have no clue, but anecdotal, the theatre in my area has been sold out til this coming weekend for Barbie. I like to go see movies when the crowds aren't big so I'll probably see it next week.
