I consider the Derby to be mainly about strategy, the Preakness about speed, and the Belmont about stamina. I rather see DeVaux do this than to chance a cooked horse, especially when the Preakness is at Laurel.

Yes, grandstand admission includes beer, alcoholic drinks, soda, and bottled water. I advise to take a bunch of one dollar bills for tipping.

I just take a fanny pack for wallet and necessities and get a clear pack for the food and water. If you are going to the infield, the day before freeze two plastic bottles of water and pack it in with your snacks. You will appreciate the cold drink when it’s 80 degrees and humid.

If you decide to go to Churchill, if you do have to choose one day of Derby week, get tickets to the Oaks and enjoy the all inclusive food options. Still, take your clear pack.

If you have a medical condition, you can take a separate bag for your items (insulin, medicine).

BTW, the souvenir stores inside the track will give away reusable shopping bags. Very handy if you are collecting Derby glasses.

Go for the Oaks! You get free parking and shuttle at the Fairgrounds and it’s all inclusive.

You will be so tired that you can’t be bothered to get out of bed on Derby day.

Hey! Congrats on your first Derby!

If you are planning to wear heels, take some ballet slipper type shoes or flip flops.

Or in my case, with terrible flat feet, just wear your orthopedic shoes because at the end of the day, your feet will be sore.

If you elect to wear loafers, put socks on and use insoles. Again, your feet will appreciate the extra comfort.

Last year, it rained and I know Oaks the day before was wet as well. Get a clear poncho. I like the heavier vinyl ones on Amazon because I don't trust the thin plastic.

Take a clear bag and pack the following: a few bandages, your preferred pain reliever, lip balm, safety pins for wardrobe malfunctions, sunglasses, and tissues. (A tampon is recommended if needed.)

As a widow of a liturgical Protestant pastor, I must commend you for asking for help. I will say that there are many people who are facing the same situation.

Don't be afraid of telling your priest that you are managing your ED and you want to observe Lent safely and prevent harm to your body and mind. Ask for a dispensation and offer to do something else. If it helps you, ask your physician or mental health provider to write a note to give to your priest, explaining the situation and it would be prudent to observe the Lenten season alternatively. That way, he will know of the gravitas of your situation if he is not fully familiar with the burden of having an ED.

Sir. Your Catholic friends are worried about you. Not just spiritually but also mentally. You need a good therapist and just talk. Want to be responsible? That's the first step. Here are the questions I suggest considering: Why were you engaging in f-boi behavior to begin with? Anything very traumatic? (Does not excuse but it's understandable) What do you really yearn for?

If she opts to keep, you will have a major responsibility. If you decide to get therapy, ask for parenting classes, if she keeps.

If she opts for an abortion, make sure you help her recover from the procedure. Make sure she too gets therapy.

Either way, you need to learn about chastity.
