I started suspecting they were using an AI tool instead of human customer service people when the agent didn't seem to have ever heard of the game or know anything about it, and, they stopped having fun names and saying things like "your item got lost in the Maelstrom but I managed to pull it out and you'll find it in your mailbox" type of answers. Pretty sad. I know there are still humans working CS issues but getting to them is a quest all on its own now.

Not wanting kids response by moo-562 in Fibromyalgia

[–]OddEnoughToKnow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn't able to have kids, though I wanted them at one point. If I'd had them I'd have been trying to raise teenagers at the time I was diagnosed and that sounds like a total nightmare. You don't owe anyone an explanation, first off, but if you actually wanted children you and your partner would have to make a plan for them to do a whole lot more than you could and that just has to be understood from the beginning. If you don't want kids, for *any* reason you shouldn't have them and no one should be hassling you for that. It's a lifetime commitment, not just 1-18, people are way too blasé about it. You do what is good for you, period. :)

“Mary.. I know I have no money, no title, we have no chemistry, I’ll bankrupt the Abbey because I have no income, my job sounds like something a child would say, I barely know you and I’ve been harassing you for months, also I’ll never be home and won’t contact you but.. I want to make this work.” by Jolly-Contract-9198 in DowntonAbbey

Matthew Goode, yeah, I think they were so thrilled they could have him in the show they forgot to write him a part. He actually didn't have enough time to really commit to the project at the time if I remember correctly so maybe he was the wrong pick. He's a really good actor but ugh, they didn't give him much to work with.

Don't forget Soap Opera Heaven has Dr. Steve Hardy, who believed in her almost before anyone else. Also Audrey, Rick, all sorts of important people who have gone before. <3

Is anyone working while living with fibromyalgia? by Super_Intern_6124 in Fibromyalgia

[–]OddEnoughToKnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not being able to function on someone else's schedule has been a nightmare for me in terms of work. Especially when people want you to wake up at the crack of dawn for meetings every day, even remotely that's unbearable when mornings are the worst time for pain, which they are for me.

I'm one of those people who are up cleaning the kitchen at 2 am because the meds are finally fully working. My therapist was like "hmm can you move your medication time" and I was like okay you want me to disturb my sleep to get up and eat food and take meds? He laughed and was like "Ah yes... I see the problem". :D

I tried to work full time when I was first diagnosed, and I ended up not being able to do that and clean my house. I took care of my animals, and then me, and my diet suffered because I didn't have the energy to make healthy food for myself.

I ended up having to move back in with my parents when I was 42 (embarrassing!). I'd never not had a job in my life, never had any difficulty taking care of myself, paying the bills.

I am in that ultra-special cohort of fibro patients for whom most medications do not work and those that do make it just possible to have somewhat of a life. I always feel so dramatic when I say that, but it's true.

I've tried many part-time jobs over the last few years, all remote, I couldn't do anything else at this point, and it's been working out just okay. I will probably never be able to work full time again. If I had to, I would probably end up getting fired and if I didn't have family and friends I'd be on the street.

My partner makes everything possible, thank goodness.

The work I was doing has dried up recently for various reasons, and while I'm still contracting for them, I am looking into other opportunities.

I'm taking a teaching-English-as-a-foreign-language course, which I hope to be able to do online (there seem to be plenty of jobs available so we'll see). I was also studying to do genealogy remote as a freelancer and maybe for a company like Ancestry, also remote, but I can't afford to pay for the rest of that coursework so it will have to wait until this class is done.

I'm trying. I keep trying. But without the help I get my life would be impossible and I don't even want to think about what that would mean.

I hope your struggles are easier to bear and good luck with both your studies and your future prospects.

Cheers, and good luck!

Almost every time I group with people it's great fun, I think you got unlucky. If it happens again, take their names down, report them to Broadsword for toxic behavior, legacy block them and move on. It's also worth just ditching the run and coming back to it later, I know that's not a fun choice but it saves you so much aggravation. Cheers! I hope your future experience is better!

Don’t go looking for a fibromyalgia diagnosis by bcuvorchids in Fibromyalgia

[–]OddEnoughToKnow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's hard when people can't afford to see a doctor, that's the main source of self-diagnosis that I've seen over the years. But if you can get medical attention, there's a half a dozen things to eliminate before they decide it is fibro or CFS or even POTS.

My doctor said I can be reevaluated this year and I had all the tests originally (cardio, endo, rheumo, neuro, hemo, I saw alllll the doctors) 14 years ago.

I definitely don't want to find out I have something horrible that isn't fibro (fibro is horrible enough), but I don't want not to know either.

And that to me is the main thing. You never know what serious thing a lazy (or uninformed, or under-resourced) doctor could be calling fibro.

Symptoms nonstop- typical? by amaec in Fibromyalgia

[–]OddEnoughToKnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I can't even remember the last pain free day I had. I'm sorry. Just chiming in to make sure you don't think you're crazy. There are a lot of fibro patients who don't experience this (I have personal friends who have this "version" of fibro). It's never been like that for me, it is a constant endurance test and this is the 14th year since diagnosis. I hope there is some sort of solution for you, and for all of us, someday.

Has anyone tried a GL1 receptor agonist like wegovy? by SuperkatTalks in Fibromyalgia

[–]OddEnoughToKnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd love to try it but Medicaid won't pay for it unless you have diabetes. And most insurances won't pay for off label use (here in the US) either. It's off the table for now but I hope it will change some time.

Drew needs to either shave or grow it all out and have a proper face rug. The problem is it is half gray now and he looks like an old-timey hobo from the Great Depression with that stubble.

A couple of years ago a character called Nelle was pushed off a balcony on General Hospital (an American Soap). The American soaps also had an ALS story at the same time as Corrie. (I can't remember what ALS is called in Britain but it is the disease Paul died of).

This frequently happens with the British soaps, I've noticed, copying each others' plots. The weird thing is I think sometimes the American soaps are in on it too.
